#upon waking

I watched this movie during the 14. LGBT film festival in Poland and I'm so frustrated that there is literally noone talking about it. It got lesbians, catradora vibes, "and there was only one aprtment" fanfic energy and I'm like the only person on this hellsite who saw it!

joolabee’s Upon Waking is a fairly unusual Johnlock fic because of its creative (and mildly sad) premise:

It sets on slow: John can only be awake while Sherlock sleeps, and vice versa. Their lives are codependent, but never meeting. Like a set of scales.

Set at some indeterminate point after the start of Sherlock canon, Upon Waking is the perfect combination between desperate and sweet. Despite the obvious difficulty, joolabee’s Sherlock and John manage to carry on a relationship — that relationship — in creative ways.

joolabee carries a consistent tone through the story, told from both John’s and Sherlock’s sides of the story. The mood is raw and realistic. The characters (mainly Sherlock and John, though with a few appearances from the other main cast) are in-character and strongly-written.

Upon Waking is fairly short, a one-shot, but there is definitely a compelling plot and even relationship development, despite the awkward-enough premise.
