i noticed that sometimes during unit-01's berserk sequences that her eyes narrow a bit. this is mostly noticed by me before she goes full hannibal on zeruel, or before kaworu is killed. i think i saw it too during bardiel, however i don't think it occured since a). that was primarily the dps at play and b). i might be misremembering

this brings the question of whether shinji actually made the decision to kill him, or did yui take over due to his indecision. considering that adam's soul must have needed to return to the body for instrumentality to occur, she must have known to some degree that killing him was necessary.

shinji's high destrudo had also been a major in triggering instrumentality as well, which was caused by his grief over kaworu. perhaps it was a necessary evil, to see him be so hurt.
