Was truly blessed by the presence of what I believe to be a pink underwing moth. Only thing throwing me off is it's unusually dark color :o Located in Northeast Texas!
Actually looks like Catocala carissima, which is in the same genus so they look similar. Photos for comparison here.

neat fella I found earlier this week :) appears to be some kind of underwing moth? I couldn't figure out what kind though. It's underwings are black and orange striped though!! poor things wings are ripped up horribly though :( almost completely missing its left hindwing
