5. "Bone Palace Ballet" by Chiodos
Though it is not as iconic as the album before it this albums has all of the moods and definitely shows that the band grew as musicians. Catchy riffs, great choruses, drums go ham throughout the whole album and they even take breaks to go soft from time to time with masterfully done keyboard work. Such a damn good album. Key tracks for me are "Lexington", "Bulls Make Money", "Intensity In Ten Cities" and "The Undertakers Thirst..."
4. "Cryonics" by Hot Cross
This album and band is not only pivotal in my life but they are pivotal to the genre as a whole. This album particularly is a social one to me because of its punk influence and subject matter being struggles with relationships, regret, growing up and maturing. The guitars are wild throughout this album and the multi layered vocals are pulled off perfectly.
Key tracks for me are "Pretty Picture Of a Broken Face" , "A Tale For The Ages" and "Figure Right"
3. "Laisser Vivre les Squelettes" by Daïtro
It was bound to happen on this list, my hipster pick. This album is that perfect blend of old and new post hardcore that love especially with the addition of Post Rovk elements in the instrumentals at times. Now while the style is perfect, here's the thing that makes it a hipster pick.... it's 100% in French. Not a single English word on the album. Had that not been the case this album could have potentially been number 1 in the list but it passes the vibe check for real. Key tracks for me on this one are "Nous sommes d'ici" and "Comme du papier"
2. "Let It Enfold You" by Senses Fail
Easily the most recognized and catchy album on this whole list. The choruses are peak, the lyrics encapsulate the angst of growing up and being misunderstood for many this album is the soundtrack to emo/posthardcore of the mid 2000s. Brings me back to skating at the park and getting kicked out of the mall with my friends. Key tracks for me are "Bite to break the skin" , "Calling all cars" and "Angela Baker..."
1. "Eleven:Eleven" by Underminded
This album is underrated AF and it shouldn't be. The tracks are laid out perfectly with great transitions, most of the songs are straight up ass beating music, it borderline hardcore but still did a great job keeping that emo flair in the mix. I urge everyone to check out this because I honestly think if it's not in your Top 10 post hardcore albums you simply haven't heard it yet. Key tracks for me are "Ya Basta!" , "The greatest American sob story" and
"A soft prayer whispered"
