Probably the angriest I've ever been on anything.

My mom passed away this afternoon, and I'm going to miss her so much. She taught me a lot, about how to be kind, how to be hospitable, and how to stand up for myself. We disagreed often about politics, but we never let it become hatred for the other. I'm just so sad right now.

Mom never blinked when there would suddenly be 8-10 guys from whatever hardcore band just played one of my shows sleeping on our living room floor, couches, and in whatever spare room we had in the house. She'd make breakfast often, including vegan options for people because that's who she was as a person. Or when Jessi and I were kids and the entire youth group would be in our house on a snow day or summer night after church.

The other thing she always said, when I'd leave for work, a show, or anything else she'd tell me to "do good" not just be good, not just try, but to do good, and I've carried that with me everywhere I go.

I promise I'll do good, Mom.
