He thought he was free of that freak. It had been a long time since he’d heard anything from him, and even longer since he’d seen him; he thought maybe he’d gotten bored and moved on, leaving Hawk with one less thing to worry about. The relief eventually passed and he got used to a world without Izaya. It was only a marginal improvement, given everything else going on, but an improvement nonetheless.
But then, out of nowhere, he showed up, smiling his eerie smile and brandishing a knife. The fight should have been easy, but it wasn’t; Hawk was high and starving, disoriented, and very quickly subdued. When he woke up, he was in a familiar place—and not only that, but a familiar position: teetering on the edge of a cement block, a chain wrapped around his neck.
It was explained to him by his captor that he was going to call someone (@batoushoujo) and apologize to them. A phone was placed in his hand, number already tapped out for him. All he had to do was press the call button.
Now, holding the receiver to his ear, still very disoriented and still a little high, he has a very important question to ask: “Who is this?”
