Chris Evans x Tourette’s! Reader

Summary: Chris decided host a cast BBQ to let his daughter meet the cast of CA:CW at the BBQ as she expressed major interest in the film and the development of how it comes together to make a full film, he's just a little worried she might get overwhelmed and her tics might come out to play a little more than normal.

So Chris was the best dad you could ask for, and since he knew you love the MCU and the upcoming CA:CW your dad decided to host a cast bbq to meet the rest of the cast other than Seb. Reason bring you had Tourette’s usually your tics were quite harmless to you but sometimes being anxious and overwhelmed can bring on the more harmful tics like chest hitting, neck jerking repeatedly and the louder tics too, usually your tics didn’t always come out sometimes you go days without having massive tics, they we’re always there but not always as severe as they could be.

Sebastian knew you had tics, the way he found out was when your dad was on FaceTime with him since they did it a lot usually with Scott on too. It was a bad day for you and your tics so you had a rough attack that Chris helped you though forgetting he was on FaceTime with Seb and Scott. Not just Scott so with your permission of course he told Seb what had happened and that it was normal for you and nothing to worry about.

- The morning of the bbq was the worst due to you being so anxious and exhausted from not really sleeping because you were in your head about the cast not liking you finding you weird because of your Tourette’s. Chris being the best dad could see right though that when you came down that morning ticking a little more than normal so he snuggled on the couch with you playing Lightyear not because it had your dad in it, maybe a little bit but mostly because of Sox he was your favourite.

- Chris was braiding your hair (because yeah I imagine he can) helping you get ready since the tics frustrated you more so he was there to help, he could see that the tics were starting to pick up more knowing you were in your head so he defused the situation beforehand preventing any sort of meltdown or attack since he mentally checked and knew you were due one or the other.

“Bubs they are all going to love you and accept you for who you are because they already love you and cannot wait to meet you.” He reassured whilst rubbing her upper arms.

“I know *whistle* *twitch* dad but I’m *grunting* scared because Sebastian only knows and what if I *tongue click* look weird.” Y/n voiced with concern evident.

“Sweetheart I know but it’s okay they’ll love you no matter what happens or anything else, they love you so much like I already said bubba it’s okay.” He whispered whilst engulfing her in a hug.

*time skip*

After their little heart to heart everyone had arrived at the Evans household with Y/n greeting everyone with the odd twitch or click of her tongue which was normal as she explained with help from her dad that she had Tourette’s and no one batted an eyelid and the bbq was so fun.

The usual arguments from Mackie and Seb which half way though you were surprised along with everyone else that your tics had started to join in on the argument ticking “you are both just silly” “I’m better than both of you” in a voice mimicking Seb which you found quite funny.

The bbq lasted a few more hours and all the anxious feel was gone but just as you thought it went your stomach dropped..

An aura.

This was something that felt before a tic attack which is different for everyone, but from the trained eye of your dad he knew what was going to happen, everyone slowed started to leave giving everyone hugs and saying goodbye.

After they’d all left Chris could see you release more since he knew you were holding tics in to say goodbye before you exploded, with that Chris, you and dodger in tow went to your sensory room to calm down to try to calm this attack down since it was quite mild right now.

Chris had brought your iPad to distract you with Lightyear or FaceTiming Seb since he can calm you down too.. so he gave you those options to either say yes or no to since that was easier now the tics were getting a little more harmful than usual.

“Bubba do you want to FaceTime Seb or finish Lightyear?” He coaxed gently for an answer.

“Mmmhm *chest hit* I *grunt* *whistle* want *twitch* sebby *neck jerk* please dad” y/n sighed in frustration.

“Okay my love we’re gonna call him okay lovely” Chris responded lovingly.

FaceTime call :

C: hey Seb, y/n wanted to called you she’s having a tic attack right now so I gave her the option of you or Lightyear” he whispered just outside the door as he returned with his phone.

S: that’s fine bud, I’ll try and distract her the best I can with you.” Since they knew distraction is better than laser focusing on the attack.

-skip to the FaceTime call bring in-front of Chris and y/n-

S: hey doll, how’s my favourite niece doing? Did you enjoy meeting the cast.”

Y: “*grunt* chest pat* I loved *whistle* it so much sebby it was fun”

S: “I’m glad sweetheart shall we group watch Lightyear?”

C: “I think that’s a good idea Bubba we can lay in here and put it on the tv, how does that sound?”

Y:”*dadddd* *twitch* yeah *sebbbyyy is a winer solider* that sounds *neck jerk* good”

S: “okay that sounds amazing I’ll set up the group watch, love you loads guys”

Y: “love you *sebbyyyyyyy* too”

C: “bye Seb thank you so much”

S: “no problem bud see you soon”

End of FaceTime

After finishing Lightyear and soothing cuddles with dodger laying next to you nuzzling his face into your arms, you had seem to slowly fall asleep which was normal after a rough couple days coupled with an attack too.. You’re dad couldn’t be more proud of you because he knows the struggles and stress you go though and how overwhelmed you cam get but nevertheless he was lucky to call you his amazing daughter.

“I love you sweetheart you did amazing today I’m so proud.” He whispers sweetly know she’s half asleep.

“Mhmhm *twitch* I ‘ove you too dad” she mumbled sleep taking over quickly.

This is normal for them but Chris wouldn’t change his family or daughter for the world because it made him appreciate things the little moments more and more.

It was a big brother instinct that had led him right to her. She was so much like her dad it was unbelievable.

She was slightly out of sight but years of dealing with Virgil mean he knew just where she would have sequestered herself, she found just as much comfort in that ‘Bird as his little brother always had.
