“I can’t wait, dude. I feel like a fuckin’ little kid,” Derek said, bumping into Jeremy as they walked three in a row down l towards the court.
“Did I tell you my mom said she's bringing those cookies I told you about?” Shawn bracketed Jeremy on the other side.
The Trojans were encouraged to invite their families to the fall banquet, per tradition, and the two months that had passed preseason began felt eons long. Jeremy wished he could share the Derek's sentiment, but everything from the way his shirt was buttoned to how he’d sandwiched himself between the most palatable players in his year, was a desperate ploy for his family’s approval. Jeremy was past the point of hoping their heterosexuality would rub off on him, but maybe it would keep his mother and step-father from recalling his blunder the year prior. His closer friends walked behind him, their laughs beating down on his guilty conscious like the hot California sun. It made him sweat just as heavily.

3.“I love you, but that’s a terrible idea”
Adora stares down at the ground. The people walking about look like tiny little ants. Up this high, one slip can be beyond dangerous. Especially when you lack magic. Thankfully, Adora’s girlfriend has the ability to teleport to safety. Though, Glimmer is trying something else out.
“I love you,” Adora starts, walking back from the edge, “but this is a terrible idea.”
Glimmer spreads out her wings. “So. It’s not like we haven’t tried this before!”
“Yeah but not from this high. The last time we tried we had to get Bow to help get you out from the branches and vines in the Whispering Woods.”
“Don’t worry. Trust me. This will be fine!”
Before Adora can say anything else, Glimmer darts right past her. The queen jumps from the rooftop of the castle. For a moment, gravity takes a hold and brings her down to the ground. But when wings stretch out far, she sails straight back into the sky. She flaps her wings until she is staring eye to eye with Adora.
“See, what did I tell you?” Glimmer smirks. She sticks out a hand. “Wanna come on a ride with me?”
Adora rolls her eyes before taking it. “Only if you promise not to make us eat shit.”
“I promise, don’t worry.”
