CARDAN THEORY
*BEWARE TWK SPOILERS AHEAD*
so I was just thinking about the reason of why Cardan would exile Jude and I think I might’ve found some proof to what I believe:
So first of all, I believe that Cardan exiled Jude to
1. keep her safe because he KNOWS she is constantly getting hurt and fears she might die if she stays in Faerie and because he is in deeply love with her.
2. make Jude fully understand what he felt when she betrayed him and also make her hate him again so she stays away because Cardan feels that he is the cause of Jude being in danger.
so now that’s outta the way I think this is how he came to those conclusions:
Well remember when Vivi comes into Faerie for Taryn’s wedding and she brings Cardan a coronation gift and asks Jude to give it to him and Jude’s all like uM nO i FoRgot ThEy WeRe EVeN friEnDS. Thus, though we never see it, forcing Vivi to be the one to give it to him.
Soon after that, Jude gets kidnapped and that whole chaos unravels.
Well I believe that while Jude was gone, Vivi went to Cardan to, not only give him the gift, but to also talk about Jude. We know Vivi is constantly pushing for her to come back to the mortal world. We know that Vivi was the one who found her near death after the arrow incident. We also know Cardan found Jude putting ointment on her leg. I don’t think @hollyblack put all of this as a coincidence. I think that this was the turning point where Cardan realized Jude was in extreme danger, or maybe im going on a strech here to say that maybe they even struck a bargain/deal. We know Cardan slowly learns how to scheme and: afterall, Vivi is Madoc’s daughter. What is to say she isn’t strategic as well.
Anyways this was so long, but I do believe these details were all for nothing. Lmk what u think. :)
TWK SPOILERS BEWARE
Hear my judgment,” Cardan says, authority ringing in his voice. “I hereafter exile Jude Duarte to the mortal world until such time as she is pardoned by the crown. Until then, let her not step one foot in Faerie or forfeit her life.”
jude?? can’t u just pardon urself?? ur the crown now??

TCP & TWK SPOILERS
so during The Wicked King, the quote “Power is much easier to acquire than it is to hold on to” was repeated so often and I just thought:
Jude LITERALLY went from being a powerless mortal living in a Fae world constantly being bullied for having nothing to CONTROLLING the fucking HIGH KING of Elfhame to being someone EXTREMELY valuable during the whole political war to becoming QUEEN OF ELFHAME (though no one knows this but shh) to losing absolutely everything she had, thus leaving her with nothing.
Jude went from 0 to 100 real quick and she hadn’t even tasted power yet, now that she has, imagine how badass and powerful our queen will become in Queen of Nothing and how she is currently taking a break in the mortal world, learning from her mistakes, so that when she comes back she will be absolutely r u t h l e s s.

Queen of Nothing?
“You remind me that I am a mere mortal and you are a prince of Faerie. Well, let me remind you that means you have much to lose and I have nothing. You may win in the end, you may ensorcell me and hurt me and humiliate me, but I will make sure you lose everything I can take from you on the way down.“
I feel like the title Queen of Nothing refers back to this quote from The Cruel Prince were Jude basically says that if she has nothing, then she has nothing to lose. So being the queen of nothing literally hints at Jude going all out. Let’s not forget that if she’s queen of nothing and queen of faerie both at the same time then maybe its hinting that faerie will be nothing by the time she’s done with it. thanks for coming to my ted talk :)
