Heads up, if you ever venture onto Ace Attorney Twitter, remember these unwritten rules they have set if you want to save yourself:

NEVER say you don’t ship Phoenix and Edgeworth or ship anything that conflicts with it (can also apply to Klavier/Apollo). Unless you “ship it as exes” and mayyyyybeee you can get away with langworth or Gumworth but even those are on thin ice.

On that note, Edgeworth and Franziska can never ever ever be shipped with opposite gender. Bisexuality can’t exist for them. Edgeworth also can’t be aroace because clearly you would only ever headcanon him as such out of spite against naru mitsu

In fact, the only acceptable straight ships are Magshoe, Ronsiree, and (sometimes) Miego.

However these are the ships that have AAtwt’s undying hatred and will get you tons of callouts and unpersoning calling you a pedo apologist: Narumayo, Cykesquill, and Ryuususa. In fact, even if you don’t ship them but simply say you don’t think there’s a problem if others do you will be in hot water!

You MUST agree with whatever “sibling coded” and “parental figure” headcanon they have. The aforementioned ships right above ARE 100% sibling coded and that’s the only right way to interpret their relationships and it’s incest to ship them.

Oh and Edgeworth IS Kay and Sebastian/Eustace’s dad, don’t you dare disagree with that. Even saying you think he’s more of their big brother isn’t acceptable, parent/child is the only thing they can be.

And that of course makes Kay and Sebastian/Eustace siblings (even though they weren’t adopted or raised together) so don’t ship them!

NO nuanced interpretations on Manfred von Karma, or else you’re stupid or an abuse apologist. Never point out his “worthless person” line in AAI1 was a mistranslation, never suggest he didn’t force Edgeworth and/or Franziska to become prosecutors, never point out him burning Phoenix’s letters is fanon, you deserve to be ratioed to the nth degree!

Oh and don’t say anything critical on AA4, that game is 100% peak, how dare you say you don’t like the idea of Phoenix being disbarred.

On that note you must agree AA5 and AA6 are 100% (except for Simon Blackquill and maybe Athena) pure trash and travesties on the franchise. Don’t say you like those games or that you prefer them over AA4, they belong at the bottom of your tier lists and only idiots like them.

Fandom Problem #5059:

1) An orange talking cat without any "race"

2) His voice actor, Antonio Banderas, is spanish/ from Spain-also white.

3) The implications that everyone in Latin America speaks spanish. (In Brasil they speak brazilian portuguese for instance)

4) This bizarre almost-racist take that all people in Latin American are race-mixed/brown and that white latinos aren't a thing. (Often make up 30%-40% of a country's population).

I get your feeling. I don't have a general concept, but I can tell you only how I do it.

I actually don't search his name at all on Twitter. The block button is your friend, once you filtered the hateful ones it gets better. (still on the search or in qrtwt the blocked accounts show up, so it's not working perfectly). So block as many accounts as you need to not see them on your TL.

Curate your space and follow ppl who you like and stick to your TL. This way I am spared most of the haters. And I am actually also blocked by a lot of hater accounts 😅tbh it's good.

I try just to stay in my own TL among my Twitter friends. If you need a friendly Twitter space to join I am in a Shoma groupchat. Just write me on Twitter and I'll add you.

My Twitter account below. I would say I follow only Shoma positive ppl or Fanyus who don't say bad about Shoma (at least not in the open), so you can take a look at how I do it. (it's not a guarantee to not see hate but it works well for me)

In general keep in mind that those haters must be miserable ppl if they have to spend more time on hating instead of posting content of ppl they like. They don't know Shoma personally and many of them are also influenced by the narrative that Shoma is a bad person instead of building an own opinion.

The amount of hostility you describe really reflects the downside of social media. Everyone is all TPWK and against cyber bullying until it comes to this/a fandom.

If you feel like you need to harass other-minded people online and justify it with some sort of "greater good", you're not just mean for the moment (we are all petty every now and then, it happens), but you're giving a purpose to a deeper routed internalised hate.

It tells you more about those kids than about what they try to represent. That's why I feel for them in a way and often don't clap back. Their loneliness (and maybe the defeat of a past online fight still stuck in their bones) is really palpable. To me it's a sad observation that this might be their only way of receiving resonance, not just online, but in life. I don't want to defeat them over and over again, when what they actually need is a hug.
