Looking down below the table Stephen spotted the guinea pig (how hadn’t he seen it before?) and he carefully scooted out his chair, before squatting down. He had always enjoyed rodents, having had both a rat and a guinea pigs in the past, as well as being the reason why Butters had always had a hamster around... so when he reached out a hand to let it carefully sniff it, he effortlessly picked it up, support its front and back, and took the guinea pig into his arms. 

“I’d hope not. I mean I know your parents are dicks and all, but...” Would they really endanger their child like- scratch that, yes they would. Kenny wasn’t even sure why he’d doubted in the first place. The fact they’d left Tweek to close up by himself was proof enough. Kenny hid his frown behind the collar of his parka and walked alongside Tweek with hands in his pockets, leaving the conversation topic to shift subjects.

At least he’d seen the question coming. “Parents’re fighting again, really loud. Karen’s sleeping over at a friend’s so I didn’t feel bad about just bailing.” He shrugged. “Wouldn’t be the first time. Figured I’d wander around for an hour or two and hopefully they’d be passed out when I got home.”

Kenny didn’t feel much shame over admitting it. The entire town had been well aware of the McCormicks’ state of affairs for years now.
