Tweek Gets Clean
Princess waffles about headcanons of this sketch
I wanna give Tweek a happy life so in this universe he gets clean. It wasn't easy, it never really will be, but he has a great support system!
At some point when Tweek got a little older he realized that his pick up from the McCormick's garage was, in fact, meth. Meth that was going into the coffee. His coffee. He tried to ignore it, feeling like no one would believe him if he said anything, but he learned about the effects of the drugs and realized that it was why he had more than a few issues. He couldn't do it anymore. This realization helped him see his parents for who they really were. So he ran away. Not far. Just to the Tucker's home. Told his parents if they ever tried to get him back he'd blow up their spot.
The Tuckers took him in with open arms, though he didn't tell them why he ran away, they still figured he had good reason (especially since he parents showed no interest in bringing their son home). Now, some would assume that this was happy ever after, but of course not! You can't just quit drugs cold turkey with 0 withdrawal symptoms! Tweek was crashing hard. Being high every single day of his life fucked him up, but he refused to go back to his parents for more coffee.
Craig noticed immediately. He didn't think that his boyfriend could get more spazzed, but apparently, he was wrong. Tweek went from sleeping very little to not at all, and nervous habits like pulling his hair got so much worse. And he started scratching. His neck, legs and arms were covered in scabs because he could not stop scratching. He wasn't going to school either. He was way too paranoid to leave the house. Oftentimes Craig would come home to find him hiding in the closet, rocking back and forth, and talking to himself.
Craig begs to know what's wrong.
"Did your parents do something to you? Tweek, please tell me?"
Tweek comes clean. In the midst of literally losing his mind, he sees Craig's worry, and tells him the truth. Craig is furious. That's insane! Who does that to their child!? Tweek begs him not to tell anyone. No one can know, especially not the cops. He can't go back. He won't go back. Craig argues that he needs help, they have to tell someone? After a while Tweek agrees to tell Laura and Thomas, but only if they exclude it being related to his parents. Craig doesn't like the idea of those monsters getting away while Tweek takes the blame but it was either that or nothing.
Laura and Thomas don't seem surprised. Why would they be? That boy was clearly going through withdrawals and he already had problems before that. But they knew that it would be pointless to throw out accusations, addicts aren't exactly receptive to help. They also could tell Tweek was lying about how this addiction came about, they'd never really trusted Helen and Richard. But as they looked at this terrified, jacked up boy, they decided it was best not to push it. Tweek came to them for help and dammit they were going to help him!
Tweek went to rehab. They kept him for several months due to the severity of what the drugs had done to his body and mind. The Tucker's visited as often as possible to see how he was doing and make sure the staff were treating him well. They wanted to throw a party when he finally came home, but that seemed like a bad idea, so they just made his favorite dinner and bought a cake. Tweek cried. Like a lot. No one ever cared for him like this. His own parents didn't even care that he was in rehab, too worried about their damn business to even try to reach out to him. And it's not like Tweek wanted to talk to his parents, but this solidified that they did not care, and that hurt a lot. But he would be okay. He had Craig, Laura, Thomas and Tricia. They were his new family.
Of course Tweek still had dark days, and he was going to therapy and that helped a lot. His therapist told him to pick up a hobby, preferably something active that was good for the body and mind. Tweek decided to try soccer again. He really liked it when he was younger, and it wouldn't take too much work to get into since he's played before. He loves soccer. It makes him feel good and it gives his mind something to focus on. The Tuckers attended all of his games and Craig was at every practice.
Tweek was in a good place, and he did his best to stay in that good place. Even on the worst days he had a great support system to help him through it. And he never ever drank any sort of coffee again.
These are my thoughts! I could go more in depth about this but I was trying to keep it short so maybe later, idk.
