i don't really understand what is going on, did dylan decide to leave the show or something?
It’s not that simple anon....
Let’s keep in mind, before I try to explain what is going on, that nothing is official yet and we’re concluding a lot from pictures and comments from the crew.
Dylan has a super tight schedule. Ever since the beginning of 2016 - even before his accident - Jeff knew it would be a problem and that he wouldn’t have much time to shoot season 6 (only 6A? 6b too? Unknown). What I know is that Dylan was supposed to shoot The Death Cure (3rd Maze Runner movie) around idk March- April of 2016, and that’s also when they were supposed to shoot 6A.
Which is why they came up with the idea they had for season 6A (of Stiles being forgotten etc).
So before Dylan left to shoot Maze Runner, he shoot most of his 6A scenes, which are the ones we’re seeing.
But that was all before his accident.
So problem is. Dylan had to shoot TDC and then American Assassin, but he’d be done after AA (if i’m not mistaken) and....i suppose,.. more free to shoot teen wolf season 6B.
But, since he had his accident he didn’t shoot TDC, so he got those months to (rightfully) rest/recover. Then he shot AA, but now he still gotta shoot TDC starting in february.
So it’s not like Dylan quit. Problem is there is little time for him to shoot and all the big companies involved aren’t exactly trying to make a better schedule here so season 6B can be filmed (i said this once and I’ll say it again: if it mean we’d have Dylan in all 10 episodes, i’d gladly wait 2 years for teen wolf, and i know a lot of people feel the same).
Anyway, so that’s what everyone knew. That Dylan had a difficult schedule. He finished AA at the first weeks of December then he went to LA to shoot Teen wolf and we thought- Hey, he’ll have time to shoot a few scenes for 6B! Like, we’ll see him in a few episodes (keep in mind that when he went back to LA most - if not all- of what he filmed was for episode 6x10 - still 6A). BUt then, a few days ago people of the crew posted pics with him saying their goodbyes and how it was good to have worked with him all those years. Someone said they wrapped up Dylan’s last shooting for teen wolf so.......... we all prety much figured the worst. Dylan won’t be filming in January for teen wolf. He’ll have little - IF ANY- scenes on the last season of the show....
Again, it’s nothing official. we don’t know whose decision it was etc etc (will wallace- one of the writers- talked about how this involves the big companies and they don’t have much power in their hands). And that’s what’s happening right now
