innocently asked you if you wanted to go to the store and buy some snacks for a spontaneous movie night - obviously you said yes

he thought about the overhead announcements right as you two walked into the store and came up with a plan for a prank. curse this tall handsome menace i swear.

you laughed at how much clingier your boyfriend was being than he usually was in public

“what’s gotten into you, silly?” you asked playing with the arm he slung over your shoulders

“nothing, sunshine, just excited for our lil date tonight” nothing my butt, tetsurou.

see, he may be good at fooling other people by acting chill and ‘suave’ (his words not mine) but when it comes to you he just gets too?? giddy

so you knew something was up

“okay, you’re very cute and i love this but i do need my hand to grab the bag” you laughed wriggling your hand out of his grasp when you two reached the right aisle

“fine, but that’ll cost you a kiss when we get back home”

“mm, a price i’m willing to pay - oh, can you go grab some dish soap please? we’re running out i just remembered”

he pouted “you don’t wanna go with me?”

“i do but i don’t know which ice cream i want yet so i’m trying to be efficient and ask my amazing boyfriend to get us soap while i choose”

“fine, fine,” he smiled, knowing full well you were going to stand in the ice cream aisle for five minutes staring at all the choices before grabbing one of the three go-to flavors you normally get. he also saw that this was his opportunity. “okay, i’ll be back. but if i get lost, that’s on you”

you snorted and gently pinched his cheek “you’re not going to get lost, tetsu, you’re the one who introduced me to this store”

to be fair, you should’ve known kuroo was not above little pranks like this

“y/n, please come to the customer service desk, your lost child is waiting for you.”

you almost didn’t want to go so he wouldn’t win this round but you went anyways

sitting relaxed on a store bench, your boyfriend met your gaze with his playful smirk as bright as ever - your glare was contrasted with the laugh that escaped you as you saw him twirling a bottle of dish soap

it only got better when the elderly woman behind the counter asked you if you were really his parent “you just seem so young to have a child” (aSIDE from the fact you might not look anything like him?? lady pls HAHA) kuroo broke out into an unstoppable laughter my goodness. when you explained he was your boyfriend, the woman’s eyes crinkled in delight, “ah, i see. handsome and funny, you have a keeper, huh?”

later, when you and kuroo got home and were snuggled up on the couch you looked up at kuroo “you know, that lady was right”

“what? when she said i was handsome?” he grinned, placing a kiss on your head

“yes but, before that, when she first called me over” you chuckled at his confused expression “you are a child”

“hey! y/n!”

you squealed as he tried tickling you in revenge and you held your hands up in defense “okay, truce!” you two tried to catch your breath from laughing so hard and you smiled up at him “she was also right, though. you are a keeper”

TERUSHIMA

shopping with your boyfriend was always an adventure

you never knew if you would get super helpful, clingy, soft yuuji (who by the way has great style if you like clothes shopping) OR if you would get beyond-flirty, corny jokester, loud yuuji (who will make all the puns in the world.. and try to grab your butt in public. fun stuff lol)

and on a glorious day like today you got the second yuuji

now you love this side of him but you two were already running behind schedule for the dinner you two were going to later so you were hoping for more of helpful terushima (yall were running late bc teru convinced you to cuddle ‘for five more minutes’ which turned into thirty minutes. he refused to get up and then, when you finally were able to lift him off, a tickle fight ensued *sighs* he’s lucky he’s cute /j)

it was really sweet and amusing at first. grabbing you to dance to the song playing through the store’s sound system and then some cute puns while you grabbed your groceries

“hey, y/n, i love you from my head to-ma-toes”

“gorgeous, i think you’re really tea-riffic”

those were just a couple puns and each time you giggled and gave his cheek a kiss before he put back the tomatoes, tea, or other items he grabbed to add to his performance

“you know you’re spending most of your time walking back and forth to put stuff back instead of helping with the groceries right?” you laughed as he walked back, holding yet another item behind his back

“i know, i know, i’m sorry,” he gave a grin that you could never get enough of, even if he was starting to get on your nerves. “okay but i need you to ask me to marry you.”

that was unexpected. “what?”

“come on, you heard me, this isn’t the first time you’re hearing that i wanna marry you, just ask”

your eyes twinkled with mirth at how unabashed he can be “okay, then. terushima yuuji, one day when we’re not at the store and one of us is actually proposing, will you maybe marry me?”

his smile grew at how you still entertained him. he nodded enthusiastically. “absolutely i will. but-” he brought the mystery item from behind his back “we cantaloupe”

after cringing you burst into laughter and patted the melon he held, “fine, we won’t elope. now please, put this back and help me, bubba. we still have to cook the dishes we’re bringing when we get home”

“since you said please,” this time he gave you a kiss and went to do just as you said

he stayed by your side and was helpful for a grand five minutes before he started getting handsy and trying to keep his hands on your butt

you might not have minded as much if there weren’t so many people at the store and if the angry middle-aged moms weren’t giving your boyfriend evil eyes - plus it was distracting, especially when terushima would also whisper in your ear. nothing even suggestive but it still distracted you i mean your boyfriend’s really attractive sooo

“you know what, bubba, can you get the parchment baking sheets? please? i can finish up here and find you”

he chuckled, “aw, you getting flustered sweetheart? we’re young and in love, there’s nothing to get embarrassed at, it’s okay.” he laughed at your glare and held his hands up in defense “okay, i’ll get the baking sheets.. don’t miss me too much” he dramatically pursed his lips for a smooch but you jokingly pushed him away because he was doing this on purpose now

you finished grabbing everything you two needed and went looking for yuuji but he wasn’t anywhere near the aisle he was supposed to be at or where he last left you

again, shopping with your boyfriend was always an adventure

“y/n, sweetie, please make your way to the front of the store. your daddy is waiting for you at the customer service desk”

you were FUMING omg

when he saw you approaching, terushima held his arms out for an embrace, “there’s my baby!”

after profusely apologizing to the mortified customer service employee you dragged your boyfriend to the check-out lines

yeah, yuuji thinks it’s the funniest thing on planet earth

“i can’t believe you did that, what if they kick us out? ban us?” you tried scolding but your voice cracked at the end due to terushima’s contagious laughter

he might be a headache and an idiot sometimes but he’s your headache and idiot and you love him a lot

“that’s what you get for pushing away from my kiss earlier,” he said as he went in to place a kiss on your forehead
