he decides, in that precise moment (he’s lying— he’s known he’s loved you for a lifetime) when you’re dancing your heart out the Boneyard. you dragged him here after proclaiming that there was a party to be held. everyone invited.


you’re the only person here in his eyes.

you are art. your body sways gently, eyes crinkled in a wide smile as you laugh along with your friends. his eyes soften. all of him softens. he’s always wanted to kiss you, even after he teases you (more so bullies) relentlessly by saying you’ll never catch him kissing a pogue.

you’re a pogue. he’d kiss you any day, everyday. it’s cheesy, he thinks to himself, but gosh those lips are pretty. you’re pretty. you’re beautiful, actually. perfect.

“you good?” topper’s voice overcrowds his thoughts, and in typical rafe manner he scowls and turns to topper with his lips pulled into a snarl.

“what? ‘course i am.” topper laughs, nudging kelce as rafe returns looking at you. his eyes practically light up from the star that is you.

eventually you get tired, all worn out but still energetic as ever. his girl.

or, well, his best friend that’s a girl. and who he’s in love with. but he doesn’t say that aloud. “hi, rafey!” you smile ever so brightly, shiny lips adorned with the lipgloss rafe had gifted you with suddenly. (you didn’t question him. though you did tell him off for a good three hours. he loved every second it.)

he nods, admiring your outfit now that you’re closer. you’ve never been an overdresser— with a simple jacket and bike shorts you’re content. he smiles a little, lips quirking up in a little smirk.

with a shy hi to topper and kelce, you sit on a log and watch the fire burn in the middle of the group. you smile.

rafe watches everything. he watches as the fire compliments your skin with the orange glow. his sun, his moon, his everything.

his little fire.

you feel his gaze, turning your face to rafe. a smile. you’re always smiling. he smiles back, surprisingly. he relishes in the quiet giggle that escapes your lips, a soft chuckle escaping his soon after.

he loves you.

Today has been rough for everyone in the Akademiya, just like all of the passing recent days.

After the whole overthrowing Azar, a Fake God situation and disconnecting Akasha Terminals, Akademiya couldn't be a bigger shamble. Even when they tried their best to appear as if nothing serious happened.

Huge delays of many deadlines, changed expectations, new forbidden research topics and the masses of students running from one corner to another were saying otherwise. Driving mad both students and staff working themselves to passing out trying to find some balance to hold on to.

This time has been especially exhausting to the new appointed, Acting Grand Sage - Alhaitham.

With the working hours long since ended, the desk lamp in the biggest office was still glowing, acompanying it's user who was working overtime again, trying to get a hold of the situation and resolve it quickly.

No one envied the new appointed Head, maybe some of them did at first, but after seeing the state of an ever rational, machine-like stoic scholar in such a mess, they quickly abandoned their wish and idea altogether. None of them wanted to be in his skin now... 

As if his horribly dark eyebags and disappearing from everyone's eyes, locking himself in the office all the time wasn't showing how messy everything had been lately.

All of the support from the Dendro Archon was greatly appreciated and very much needed, as Alhaitham wasn't being able to clear his desk from the papers alone. No matter if he worked non-stop day and night, he couldn't see an end to it, and yet the amount of them only seemed to increase over time.

The repetitive routine never ended and haven't let anyone working on them to take a single break, and so more help was needed.

Volountiers - mostly students working on less-confidential files who wanted to obtain extra credites, hoping that they would help them with their graduation and those who have already graduated - hoping to ensure their stable and more superior positions in the new Akademiya in the making.

And yet all of their work, all of these helping hands, eyes and smart brains wasn't enough, it would never be enough, and Alhaitham knew that all too well, but all of their efforts were appreciated and rewarded nonetheless.

At this point, he would take most of the student body to help if they volountered, no one has ever saw him so desperate and stressed before.. And only Celestia knew how many times Alhaitham and other scholars cursed Azar in their minds - some even out loud.

This night again, Alhaitham fallen asleep on his desk in the middle of filling another crucial paper, with his hands placed on top of each other as he placed his head on them in the opposite direction from the still working lamp.

The sleeping man got suddenly woken up in the middle of the night, seemingly out of nowhere, as he started hearing voices from the side of his office. His first reaction was to stand up and go to see the source of the sound. As he stood up he was immiediately hit with a wave of dizziness, but still took his swords despite that and prepared to sneak-up on the intruders.

When he thought about finally going to check out the suspicious noise, he saw a little cupcake with a single white candle and green frosting, with sugary letters saying "Happy Birthday!"... At that he slightly lowered his weapons, more calmed down, but still cautious nonetheless.

It is today, huh? He completely forgot, Alhaitham shook his head smiling slightly and sighing. In the next few second he got serious once again, walking with his dual swords towards the source of the noise, hearing familiar laughter behind the mini-wall made from a bookshelf.

The next thing that Alhaitham saw had relaxed him entirely, as he quietly shook his head at the newcomers antics, with a genuine smile and the feeling of the pressure being taken off his chest.

Right in the middle of the so-called relaxation room in his office sat his friends: Kaveh, Cyno and Tighnari. All of them laughed happily at his reaction, clearly enjoying his expression and their succesfull surprise, as both Tighnari and Kaveh made a high five and Cyno was smirking at the taller man. At that he only just rubbed his eyes from still lingering sleepiness and looked at them for a while.

Soon after he put back his swords, another weight had been added onto the couch, with the man sitting close to everyone. Some of them started to chat about some light things, while the others continued to lighten his workload, just like before he joined, sometimes chimming some light remarks into the conversation as well.

Their laughs and happy conversations had surrounded the Grand Sage office up till the rise of the dawn, and when everyone had fallen asleep, Alhaitham - unnonticed by the rest covered them all with blankets and changed positions of some of them, to lessen their possible pains afterwards.

With another happy yet tired sigh he also placed himself on one of the couches, falling asleep comfortably and peacefully, just like before all of this mess started. In that moment he was very thankful for having companions like that, going out of their ways to help him out and be with him from their own will and initiative.

You walked into your shared bedroom and looked in the mirror. You were looking at your baby bump in the mirror. You had not even noticed yet that Drew was also in the room sitting on the bed, leaning against the headboard.

Drew got up and walked over to you before hugging you from behind gentle. You giggled and smiled then rested the back of your head against his chest. He smiled and kissed your head.

"You look so cute with your baby bump!" He said with a smile.

"Thank you." You said with a giggle. "I'm so excited to be pregnant. I can't wait to meet our baby in a few months." You said with a smile.

"This is going to be the start of something magical." Drew said smiling.

"Yeah it is, I know it." You said. He then gently spun you around so you were now facing him instead of the mirror. You smiled when you saw him. He leaned down and planted a gentle, loving kiss to your lips.

"Mm.. you warm." You said with a giggle and nuzzled his chest. Drew laughed. "I've been trying to look for my house coat because I'm cold but, I can't find it anywhere." You said with a frown. 

"Aww.. you looked in all the rooms?" He asked.

"Yeah and I can't find it." You said.

"It's okay sweet girl." He said and kissed your forehead. "I'll keep you warm." He said with a grin. You giggled and smiled.

"Good because you are much better and warmer than a house coat." You said with a giggle. Drew laughed and gently picked you up and then laid down on the bed with you and snuggled you gently to keep you warm. You giggled and nuzzled his neck with a smile. 

"I am so excited that I am pregnant but, I still can't believe we are going to have a baby." You said.

"I know, it's kind of mind-blowing." Drew said with a small chuckle.

"I was super nervous to tell you but, I'm also really nervous to tell your mother." You said.

"Why?" He asked confused. "My mother adores you." He said.

"She does?" You asked with a smile.

"Yeah, she's always talking about how nice and kind you are." He said. "She really does like you. She's glad I picked you." He said.

"I'm glad you picked me too." You said with a giggle.

"Well, I'm even luckier that you wanted to be with me and marry me and now have a baby with me." He said with a smile.

"I can't believe we have been married for a year now." You said. 

"I know, it feels like it was just yesterday." He said. 

"It really does feel like that." You said. The two of you laid there and talked about anything and everything that had to do with your future, your pregnancy, and your marriage. You smiled tiredly and rested your head on his chest.

"Can I play with your hair?" Drew asked.

"Sure baby." You said with a tired smile. He chuckled and gently started playing with your hair. The feeling helped relax you but also made you more tired. As he played with your hair and pet you head your eyes slowly fluttered closed.

You then fell asleep curled up in Drew's arms as he played with your hair and snuggled you, then soon after he fell asleep too.

You were getting ready for work when you phone dinged. You grabbed your phone and turned it on before looking at the notification. It was a message from your boyfriend Drew. You smiled and opened it up to see what he texted you.

(Drew's text message)

Good morning, sleeping beauty. I just wanted to message you this morning to say that I love you and I hope you have an amazing day. I can't wait to see you later, that is all I can think about right now honestly. Your beautiful face is honestly all I ever want to think about. I'm just so lucky that you are my girlfriend. I don't even know how I would've survived without you before I met you. I had a surprise for you so I am going to pick you up from work today so I'll also drive you this morning. I'll be over in about 25 minutes to pick you up. I'll see you soon princess, 143. 💕

When you saw his message you smiled widely. You loved Drew so much, you were so lucky to have him in your life. You honestly didn't know what you would do without him either. His sweet message made you feel so happy.

You messaged back saying 'Okay, 143 🥰' and then went back to getting ready, super excited to see him when he arrived.

You were driving home from work. It was 5:30pm and you just wanted to be able to go home and see your boyfriend Rudy. He got off a little earlier than you today so you two could no go home together like you usually did.

You and Rudy were currently living together in your apartment. You two wanted to buy a house together but, you decided to wait a little just so you could browse more at the houses. You and Rudy had been dating for 2 years now.

You both got casted on Outer Banks and you started dating shortly after you guys started filming season 1. You had been so happy since then. You had the job of your dreams, the man of your dreams and you got to work with your boyfriend at your job. Everything was perfect.

You pulled into the parking lot of your apartment building. You got out of the car and headed inside before going upstairs. You went up to your floor and then walked down the hallway until you got to your apartment.

You unlocked the door and walked inside. The lights were out. You closed the door and felt your way in the dark for the lock. Once your hand was on the lock you locked the door. You hands then felt around in the dark for the light switch.

You didn't hear any movement so you figured that Rudy was taking a nap. Once you felt the light switch you turned it on and then turned away from the wall and gasped. The room was decked out in Valentine's Day decorations.

There was heart balloons, roses, chocolates, candies, some Valentine's themed pastries in the kitchen, beautiful fairy lights, heart streamers, and other decorations. You stood there in awe looking at everything. 

You then saw Rudy walked out with his cute smile. God he was so handsome. You smiled when you saw him standing there. You walked over to him and wrapped your arms around his neck. He smiled and held onto your waist.

"Mm.. I love you smile." You giggled and pecked his lips. "You didn't have to do all of this for me." You said.

"Well, I wanted to." He said. You smiled more. 

"Well I got you something too." You said.

"You didn't have to do that." He said with a chuckle.

"Well I wanted to and you did all of this for me so." You said as you walked over to your bag and pulled out a white bag with red hearts on it. You walked back over and gave it to him. He smiled and took it.

"Well, thank you baby." He said.

"Well? Open it!" You said and giggled.

"Alright, alright." He said with a laugh and sat on the couch then opened it up. You had got him some chocolates and a custom photo lamp of you and him. He smiled when he saw it and looked back to you. "Thank you baby, I love it." He said with a smile and put it on the table then got back up and walked back over to you.

"You're welcome. I know it's not much." You said.

"No no, I love it baby, I promise." He said. "Now let me give you your gifts." He said with a smile.

The two of you were now laying together in bed snuggled together. He gave you flowers, chocolates, roses and a few pieces of clothing you had been looking at. He also made dinner for you, gave you a massage, and gave you a extra special treat at the end. 

Now the two of you were cuddled together with only the blankets on the two of you. Today was honestly one of the best days ever. You had an amazing Valentine's Day. You looked up at Rudy and smiled.

"I love you Rudy." You said.

"I love you too Y/N." He said with a smile and planted a loving kiss on your lips. You then rested your head back on his chest and the two of you drifted off to sleep eventually.

Dear Y/N,

Hey, it's Betty. I had something that I really wanted to tell you and I felt most comfortable doing it through a note. I know I could have called, texted, even told you in person. I know there is a bunch of ways I could have done this but, I decided to do it through a note.

I know we have been friends for a long time. Actually, we have been friends since we were little kids. I love that we have been friends for so long and that we have stayed so close but, I guess that also makes this kind of harder for me to do.

I just don't want to ruin our friendship. I am just scared that the thing I want to tell you will ruin everything between us and I really don't want that to happen. I would be so sad and feel so guilty if it ruined everything. 

Anyways, I should just get to the point. Alright, here goes nothing...

I like you Y/N. I like you a lot. I have had a crush on you for the longest time now and I was always just too scared to confess my feelings to you because I was kind of scared of getting rejected but I was even more scared about losing you completely.

Because I would never ever want to lose you as a friend. Even if you didn't feel the same way about me I would still want to be your best friend even though it may be awkward for awhile after my confession.

Anyways, I will let you process what I have told you and you can get back to me when you feel ready to. I hope to hear from you soon.

Today was the day the others and Renna were supposed to get a new "friend" to play with. These days were always so exciting for Renna, new friends and classmates, even though they may die in the first week or two. This year was different though, this new Other didn't look special like the rest of them, he was a normal human being, which is very uncommon here. "Alright. Everyone, meet T.S.A, this is the new Other. Please be nice to him, he is the first full breed human we have raised. And remember, we ALWAYS treat Others with respect." Renna thought he looked weird, with his black hair and blonde highlights. "Miss, why does he look like that?" She pointed at this New Other, being really confused why he didn't look like that rest of them. "Oh sweet Renna, you see...he is a full breed human, which is VERY VERY VERY uncommon around these parts, and be sure to remember his name, Renna. We all know how you are about remembering stuff." The nurse pushed T.S.A next to where Renna was. She looked at him confused and with disgust. "Why do you smell like that?" T.S.A looked at Renna, also confused. "I don't smell..what do you mean?" The two of them just stared at each other for another 30 minutes before to was time to head to the rooms to sleep. T.S.A tugged on one of the nurses' coats, waiting for her to notice him down there. "Miss miss miss miss..where is my room?" He looked up at her, blinking a few times before being lead to his room, which was right Infront of Renna's. What a coincidence.
