Dear Diligent Dockworker,

Though this perhaps might not be the answer you seek, there is one universe where Optimus Prime and Orion Pax did coexist. In this divergent timeline, the Autobot leader was hurled backwards through time and space from the year 1985 while trying to foil the latest Decepticon scheme involving Megatron’s new Kronosphere. Disoriented by the trip, the Autobot leader could scarcely believe that he had wound up in Cybertron’s golden age just before the outbreak of the Great War; in search of answers, Optimus found his way to the docks where he had once worked—just in time for Megatron and his followers to launch one of their first attacks on Cybertron. 

Thinking quickly, Optimus jumped in front of Orion before the Decepticon conqueror could shoot his younger self… but, of course, this was the event that led to the creation of both Optimus Prime and Elita-1 at the hands of Alpha Trion. The local threads of reality shook as the natural timeline tried to reassert itself; the universe might have torn itself apart in a vicious timestorm had it not been for Optimus Prime’s inherent heroism. Correctly realizing the grave nature of his error, and with the future hanging in the balance, Optimus introduced himself to Orion as “Stacks”, adopting the name of an elderly dockworker that Pax had briefly worked alongside before retiring. “Stacks” informed Orion of the grave existential threat that Cybertron faced, but pledged that he would help build up the young dockworker into a worthy leader capable of quelling the threat. The integral fabric of reality remained stable, but history had already begun spinning off onto a new course, a parallel universe.

As Megatron’s attacks continued to mount, Orion Pax and Ariel began recruiting followers, fellow dockworkers and manual laborers who refused to be bullied into handing over their hard-won energon. From behind the scenes, “Stacks” ensured that Orion Pax would encounter the same Cybertronians who had inspired him in his youth, intervened to ensure that his younger self would survive his first encounters with his many nemeses-to-be, and impressed upon him the values of freedom and respect for all living beings. More and more Autobots joined Orion’s innermost retinue—Kup, Ironhide, Alpha Trion, Muffler—but, in turn, Megatron’s attacks grew more and more daring. Finally, Megatron’s militia  had become a full army, but Orion Pax now commanded a mighty force of his own. The two forces clashed for the first time that day, and although “Stacks” did everything he could to ensure the safety of his younger self, he allowed himself to take the fusion cannon blast intended for Orion Pax. Gravely wounded, fearing that this might be the end of his life, “Stacks” informed Orion Pax to take his Matrix of Leadership. Orion did so, and became Optimus Prime—and as the new Prime looked on in confusion at the Autobot that was his exact double, the original Optimus faded away as he returned to the present thanks to the intervention of the present-day Autobots.

You must understand that the labels and boundaries utilised by the Transtech are quite arbitrary indeed, and as such their own classification system is often fallible, prone to drawing hard lines between universes where none really exist. The multiverse is a complex, ever-changing spectrum of interrelated universes, not a series of closed bubbles that occasionally overlap; as my own correspondences with you have hopefully revealed, there are “Aurex” universes where Bumblebee exists and “Primax” universes where Fixit and Tune-Up serve as medical officers aboard the Ark.
