MY FINAL BOOK: ESCAPE FROM THE CARNIVAL OF HORRORS
I MET R.L. STINE.  The emotions were high, my Goosebumps fever was raging, but I managed to keep my cool and meet my idol/real father once and for all.  Here we are together (we have the same eyebrows)-- it was a magical meeting, one I will not soon forget.  Before I start my final review of my Goosebumps collection, I want to take a minute to recognize the incredible feat this man has accomplished.  This man (my biological father) can write a Goosebumps book in 2 weeks...that’s horrifyingly incredible.  I hope future generations of writers have Mr. Stine’s discipline and stamina-- I hope they have his spook drive.  I certainly have learned a lot from Goosebumps- and will continue to do so throughout my (very adult) life. Here is my final review:
OK- I’m the main character in this Goosebumps book (which is cool because it’s about time a 27 year old starred in a Goosebumps).  I go to a carnival with my 12 year old friends Patty & Brad (not creepy), and decide to go on some rides.  From the beginning I was “choosing my own adventure” which is pretty rad for my final Goosebumps journey.  I saw this book as a chance for me to take everything I’ve gained over the last year and apply it, all my Goosebumps knowledge would finally come in handy.  I decided to go on some rides, which were dangerous and eventually led me to the DOOM SLIDE, which I rode forever...and died. I started “my adventure” over, rode some rides again and found myself on a horse-roller coaster ride.  This was definitely scary, also- there were robot elves everywhere and they had axes- after trying to outrun them, I got my head chopped off. Dead.  I then went back, and tried another option, but that ended up with me and my friends being blast to space, and dying.  I died a lot.  Every time I did the choosing I died.  The one time I did get out (with some flipping and reversing of steps), the carnival never existed.  It was a normal carnival the whole time.  Wow.  Maybe this really was my story...maybe R.L. actually wrote this Goosebumps for me...maybe.
This book gets 5 Goosebumps (the number of selfies I got to take with R.L.).
Wow...and just like that...it’s over.  My entire Goosebumps collection.  Looking back on it now, it feels as if the whole thing was a dream.  As if my childhood, my collection and reading of Goosebumps were all imagined.  As if I had been a part of R.L.’s plot the entire time...just another time traveling, monster blood eating, half-plant, vampire ghost giant.  Haha.  That would mean that I’m still in the story now...and it’s not going to end...ever...
