#ts2 reshade

Read me before starting!

Before starting this will take a while so don't rush it. It will only lead to problems. YOU NEED TO DO ALL STEPS IT WON'T WORK IF YOU DON'T. Trused me on this pls.

First you will need to Download Reshade and Dxvk by doitsujin You need dxvk if you don't download it Reshade will not show up in your game.

2. Go in to the dxvk-2.7.1.tar.gz file you just downloaded and copy d3d9.dll over to your to the folder your "C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2 LegacyCollection\EP9\TSBin folder.

3.Run ReShade_Setup_6.6.2.exe And you should find this on your screen. After you have gotten ReShade open click on the Browse.. butten.

4. Then when you get a explore pop up locate your Sims 2 Legacy directory. Normally this is the Paths to your Sims 2 Legacy game "C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2 Legacy\EP9\TSData"

5. Then you will see this screen and you need to select Dxvk. For this tutorial Directx. If you want to use Directx 11 here is one for you.

6. Then click Uncheck all 2 times to select all effects.

7. Then it is time to start your game. If it doesn't work read here if not you can jump over the red text(If this pop-up doesn’t show up, something isn’t right. Look Back and see if you missed a step and if you still can't get it working you can comment your problem and i will see if i can help.) Now you will need to wait for resahde to Complaining your shader and effects. this will take i some minuts so be patient. If your game freezes, that’s normal it will return soon.)

8. When it is done you can press the Home key or whatever else ReShade gave you by default. The home key is often the one. If it i the home key but you don't have one like me. You can open On-Screen-keyboard.

9. Open On-Screen-keyboard then go back in game and the click the home key on the On-Screen-keyboard. If the key doesn't work click on the game. Some time windows doesn't see that you are in the game and won't send the key to the game.

10. Go in to reshade setting and map the key to some thing new that's on your keyboard

Note: these presets were made with reshade 6.4.1

VERY IMPORTANT: to get the most from this one you MUST have Extended SimStandardMaterial Shader for the Sims 2 + Optionally Brighter Sims.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND (and included) using either the shaders from Bright&Early and/or MULTsLUTS: reshade + multilut omnibus. If you already have my multiLUTs you are golden - lucky duck!

NOT SO SUBTLE RESHADE PRESET

Okay so time for me to upload my current Reshade preset. I needed something less heavy but covers all the bases for my editing style, with a little...spice.

This was made with ReShade 6.3.1 on a Fedora Linux setup (so Linux users you can use it as well!) and requires the following ReShade shader sets

SweetFX

Prod80

qUINT (for the MXAO and DOF) shaders

MXAO, Bloom, and DOF can be turned on and off with the shortcuts

(and yes tested on darker skintones, as seen on Olive Specter above. Previews taken with my Cinema Secrets lighting mod. photos on the left are taken without the preset, photos on the right with the shader)

💡 sharing my reshade presets for those who were interested 📦

Hello!

I do use ReShade! I have my own preset that I've developed over time. I think once upon a time it began out as another preset I downloaded, but I've changed it almost entirely since then and I don't even know what preset that was. It's super functional for gameplay and doesn't cause my game to lag at all. I've uploaded it here if you're interested!

I've never shared a ReShade preset before so hopefully that's the right type of file - let me know if not and I'll upload the correct one 😅

I do also add some super simple edits to my screenshots before I post on Tumblr too though, just using the photo editing tool on my iPhone. Mainly just to make things even brighter and a bit more crisp 🙃
