In between the release of HoH and BoO, I shipped valdangelo pretty hard. Then the ship just kinda fell out of popularity bc of Canon Solangelo. I always wondered what could have happened between them.
Fatal flaw
So you know what I realized as I was rereading sea of monsters? Percy and Annabeths fatal flaw is what caused them to go see the sirens, Annabeth wanted to become wiser and she believed she could survive it(pride) and Percy saw Annabeth was struggling and knew he needed to save her (loyalty) their fatal flaw literally caused them to see their fatal flaw.
