I had to remind a friend on Minecraft last night that I am asexual and donāt like the body smashing.
They bypassed the chat filter by typing:Ā
into two seperate lines. Then cleared up my confusion and sudden concern by jokingly saying they wereĀ āgoing to send a rapist to my house.ā
Thatās not even remotely funny. Some reasons why if anyone out there is still confused:
1. This is a game that, albeit I was on at 2am, but other people from the world were on and Iām willing to bet that one was an impressionable child.
2. No rape jokes are funny because they ARE ABOUT rape. Merriam Webster can easily clear up the non-nice definition of rape (one is about farming and seeds, I prefer that definition)

3. Anything that harms a living being, anything involving freedom stripped from a person under hostile circumstances, is not funny.
4. Its calledĀ āCorrective Rapeā that is what he was referencing. This is a deplorable [expletives removed] action used against asexuals, people who donāt like sex in general. A thought train that one can beĀ āfixedā through this. When really they were fine before the incident. Its not just asexuals who are victim to this. 5. I have another friend on there who explained to me why the lewd, disgusting conversation between some players in the Minecraft chat, triggered her. She was raped by her father and is pregnant. For the first time ever, I knowingly met a victim of rape and was at a loss of words. If I remember correctly, he is in prison. But you never know what others have experienced. You need to be aware of what you talk about.Ā
6. Again, jokes about rape are not funny. This was my first ever encounter with the threat of correctional rape. Iām not all too happy.
