"Hello everyone, and welcome back to Buzzfeed Unsolved! My name is Ryan, this is Shane. On today's episode we will be talking about the murder of Mitzy Hall. A teen mom and prostitute, who was murdered in the Hotel Cortez."
"Prostitute, you say?"
"Yeah, she had a rough life."
"Aw, man. This isn't gonna be a fun episode, huh?"
"No, not really."
"Bummer."
On the eve of December 24th, 1996, 17 year old Mitzy Hall left her grandmother's house for work. Only on that night she did not go to her usual strip, instead she went to the infamous Hotel Cortez right here in Los Angeles.
S: On Christmas, you say?
R: Yeah, it was not a jolly time for her that night.
S: Oof.
R: Yep.
According to receptionist and bartender Liz Taylor, Mitzy met with a man named Richard Grant that night. This, of course, was a fake name given by the man in question.
S: So we do know who did it!
R: We know his fake name. The man was never found.
S: Okay.
They went up to room 276. According to Taylor, a couple of hours went by until Grant returned his key to the room and left. She had seen Mitzy walk up and down the street for months and assumed she was just washing up. Another half hour went by and Taylor finally decided to check on Mitzy.
The sight that awaited her in the room was gruesome. Mitzy's body was hanging off the bed. Her intestines strewn around the bed, blood everywhere, she was practically decapitated.
S: Whew.
R: Yeah...it was, it was not pretty.
Mitzy left behind a daughter named Ariel, who in turn died at 20 years old. Also at the hotel.
S: Oh no. Don't say it.
R: By the same name...
S: Ryan...
R: Man.
S: No, Ryan! There is no way!
What's even crazier, is that a couple of weeks after that, "Richard Grant" himself died. Like, a horrible torturous death.
S: Good. It's what he deserves.
R: Exactly.
S: But then what's the unsolved part?
R: Well, no one knows who killed him.
S: So? Do we care?
R: Not about him. But about the possible suspect. Actually, the number one suspect herself. Which will actually lead us into our Supernatural season premiere.

Excerpt: Draco had watched with a sinking feeling as the three teenagers were dragged unceremoniously across the drawing room at the Manor. Even without Greyback shouting triumphantly that he had captured Undesirable Number One, that red Weasley hair and Grangerâs unruly curls were unmistakable.

Frustration grips you as you follow Lexi from the room, leaving an angry Stefan chained up and alone. Only when you are out of his hearing range do you dare speak, your thoughts and fears bubbling forwards before you can even think to stop them.
âThis isnât right,â you mutter, âheâs not showing us anything! Heâs not giving any hint of emotion, Lexi. Itâs not working!â you exclaim, throwing your arms up in agitation as you pause your pacing for a moment to look at your old friend.
âSomethingâs wrong,â the blonde nods slowly, looking between you and the passage that leads to your currently humanity free boyfriend. âItâs never taken this long to get him back before, itâs like he doesnât just not want to come back, he feels like he has no reason to.â
âBut he does!â you cry out, your head raising as if screaming to the Godâs above. âHe has you, he has Damon,â you start, your voice getting quieter before you add in an almost childlike softness, âhe has me.â
Silence falls over you both as Lexi looks at you, sympathy shining from her light brown eyes. Biting her lip, she suddenly looks away from you, throwing her attention back towards where you had just left before focusing on the ground.
âWhat is it?â you ask hesitantly, knowing all too well that your friend had thought of something.
With a pursed lip, Lexi slowly raises her gaze to meet your own, a look of guilt flooding her features as she furrows her brow. âWhat if he needs reminding of that?â
âWhat, that he has us?â you ask curiously, your head tilting in confusion. âLex, Iâm not sure how much clearer we can be, weâve been at this for months, and we agreed that bringing Damon in would only hinder us.â
âWhat if he needs reminding about how much he cares about you?â she asks, her voice small and self conscious. Her gaze flitters from you, focusing once more on the ground as she begins to shake her head. âForget it, weâre not going down that path.â
With a comforting hand on her arm, you try to pull her attention back towards you. âLex, weâve tried, Iâve told him about the good times, how much I love him, how much he loved me, nothing worked. If you have any other plans, nowâs the time to share them.â
With a shuddering sigh, Lexi hesitantly nods, raising her gaze so that it doesnât quite meet your own. âMaybe we should try it his way, maybe if he saw you being hurt, if he was helpless and forced to watch you in pain, maybe heâd feel something. Anger, pain, helplessness, anything would be a start.â
Your arm falls from your friends in shock as you take in her words. âYou mean, like, torture?â you ask, your voice just above a whisper.
âItâs a ridiculous plan, youâre absolutely right,â Lexi begins to shake her head before you cut her off.
âNo, no youâre right. It could work, and honestly, at this point, itâs worth trying,â you admit with a feeble smile.
The vervain ropes seem to cut into your very skin with every slight movement. It didnât matter that you tried your best to keep your arms and legs as still as possible, the tiniest incline of your foot raising and falling was enough to send the pain shooting through you, sending every nerve alight with a sharp ache that refused to dull.
A slight cry escapes your lips as you seat yourself in the chair opposite Stefanâs letting Lexi secure you without a word from either of you. You didnât know how long it would take Stefan to reawaken after Lexi had broken his neck, and you didnât need him waking up until you were both ready. No, if you were going to go to these extremes you werenât about to let something as small as an apologetic word ruin things for you.
As the final lock fastens about your chains you simply nod to Lexi in silent acknowledgement, confirming that you are ready for the hell you are about to endure. A bottle of vervain laced water splashes against your skin and you couldnât have withheld your screams if you had wanted to. The burning was intense, as if flames were dancing under your very skin, but your first goal had been achieved, Stefan awoke with a gasp, looking furiously for an answer as to who had snapped his neck before his gaze took in the new scene that sat in front on him. His sights rush from you to Lexi and back to you, his lips curling slightly into the smallest hint of a frown as he watches the steam flowing off your soaked skin.
âWhat are you doing?â his tone was tense, barely holding back any traces of anger as he glares at Lexiâs back.
âWhat needs to be done,â she shrugs, not daring to look at him in fear he would read the regret and sadness that her actions were causing her.
âYou really think hurting Y/N is going to bring me back?â he scoffs, but his frown refuses to dissipate.
âWeâll see,â she spoke, looking to you to make sure you were ok with continuing the plan. Your sights flew from her to your boyfriend, watching as his knuckles tensed ever so slightly at her words. With no objections coming from you, Lexi takes another bottle filled with vervained water, forcing your mouth open before pouring the searing liquid down your throat. A gaggle of sounds come from you as you desperately claw at your chair in an effort to escape the burning liquid. Tears fall from your lips as your lungs strain under the water, searching in vain for oxygen.
âYou donât need to do this,â Stefan spoke, this time louder as he sat forwards in his chair, his brow now creased as his frown deepened, his sights refusing to leave you.
âYouâre the only one who can stop this now,â Lexi sighs, hoping beyond anything that he would just come back, and come back quickly so she could stop this assault on you. It didnât matter that you had agreed to this, it didnât matter that together you had planned every detail of what was going to happen to you; you were still in agonizing pain, and it was destroying her to put you in such a position.
âJust, just stop, alright?â he spoke again, shaking his head as he sat back in his chair.
âAs soon as you start feeling some humanity, I will,â Lexi nods, this time beginning to pour the water over your locked up hands and wrists, forcing Stefan to watch as they steamed and burnt at the contact.
âI canât just start feeling, Lexi,â he spoke with a cold glare, attempting to gain some control over the protective nature that had almost broken free.
âWell, yell, scream, say something. Anything,â she pleads as the water falls.
âPlease, Stefan,â you whisper, even the softest of words causing an unbearable amount of pain on your burnt throat. Instantly his demeanor seemed to change, a look of desperateness falling over him as he takes in your pleading gaze.
âAlright! Alright, please, Lexi, Iâm begging you, let her go!â he threw himself forwards in his chair, aching to comfort you as tears begin to form in the corners of his eyes. âNo more,â he pleads softly, emotions crashing down upon him.
Memories begin to overtake him, yet still his focus remains on you. Murders and thefts, destruction and chaos all come flooding back to him, but still the worst of all was the pain he had just witnessed you undertake. And then a thought came over him, if you had been willing to accept all of that, all that pain and agony, just how much emotional harm had he caused you?
A single click broke him from his thoughts momentarily as your chains are undone, and before he can comprehend what is happening you throw yourself at him, wrapping yourself around him as a heavy sob escapes the both of you. Lexi releases his chains and he quickly wraps himself up in the comfort that seems to radiate out of you.
âIâm so sorry, Y/N, Iâm so, so sorry,â he utters almost as if on repeat, his tone soft and broken, as tears fall freely from his tightly closed eyes.
âItâs ok, youâre back,â you reply in an equally hushed tone, âyouâre back and I love you, ok? I love you.â
âł self para to start the murderhouse plot with @wretchedwendigoâ
triggers: death / murderÂ
Moving in to the four-bedroom house seemed like a no brainer for Nikki, when her friends had brought up the idea. Theyâd all been friends for so long, and the split rent was so low they knew they couldnât pass up on an opportunity like this, even if it meant some people had to share rooms or make do with smaller spaces. It was just... too good not to try, and what was better than sharing a house with all of the people she loved most, anyways? Itâd taken little time to get used to the house. Disregarding that the previous owners had died there, the young adults had brought new life and color to their humble abode.Â
It was a day like any other, your standard Wednesday. All of her friends had made their way out for either work, or errands, and Nikki had the place to herself. This wasnât uncommon, and some days, she even welcomed it. She liked having alone time, to dwell in her art books or pick up a novel to read without interruption from one of Romanâs roaring videogames or Cricketâs loud pop music. She was cozied up on the couch, when she heard a noise, shuffling feet in the other room, before a closing door. This left her curious, knowing that the only door in that direction belonged to the basement, where she roomed with Finnick. âFinn?â She called out, certain she was home alone. Marking her page before placing her âbook of the dayâ to the side, she pushed to her feet, when she didnât hear a response, making her way towards her room.Â
âFinn, you home?â She called out once more, this time at the top of the staircase leading into the dark basement. Sheâd never been afraid of the lower level, careless of the overhead pipes and the old toolsets they hadnât bothered moving when theyâd claimed it as an extra bedroom. But, something just felt wrong as she peered down at the room, noting that the lights were still off, and nobody was answering. âGuess not,â She commented to herself, turning to close the door, but just as she did this, she heard a noise behind her, encouraging her to flip the light switch and make her way down to where her bed and belongings were, one step at a time.Â
She was quiet now, uncertain as to what was waiting at the bottom of the staircase, but as her bare feet met the concrete floor, she froze, realizing all too quickly that she wasnât alone. Contemplating her options, she studied the set of eyes in the corner of the room, before turning quickly and racing back up the stairs, yelling for anyone who might hear her. But, her friends werenât home, and before she had made it to the top, a hand had grabbed the back of her shirt, pulling with such force that she tumbled down the stairs, hitting her head hard against the cement floor -- where her friends would find her later that day. Dead.
In all the time heâd been throwing parties, heâd been dosed a handful of times. Ecstasty and MDMA, even acid on occasion. But this was nothing like those. Alls he felt was uncontrolled and untamed rage at everyone and everything and he couldnât calm down for the life of him. It had caused a mass riot in the middle of the dance floor as he swung at anyone and anything that got in his way. Not aware of anything he was doing, he battled his way through friends, enemies. Familiar faces, and complete strangers. And it wasnât long before people who loved him were making moves to stop him. A voice nearly broke through his rage. It was soothing, like a splash of cold water to over heated skin. And then she was in front of him, palms to his shoulders as he stood shaking. âDylan, listen to me. Itâs okay, everything is okay. Just breatheâŚ. Breathe with me.â He tried. Hard as he could muster, he tried to take in even breaths, closing his eyes as his hands made their way to her own shoulders. The haze of red being only momentarily muddled before someone grabbed his shoulder and blue eyes shot open, an icy blue in place. He let go of her spinning around to grab the uninvited touch by the throat, slamming the face of the unknown teen into one of the beams repeatedly. Bones crunched, and pleas soon became bubbled gasps for air, cutting off the ability to breathe as their trachea filled slowly with their own blood. Finally he let the body go, dropping him to the floor as though he were nothing. Droplets of blood coated Dylanâs skin as he panted for breath, red still the only visible color to him, wiping his face with a blood soaked hand, leaving him looking more dangerous than he had a second ago, his skin flushed and hot. A hand touched him again, and the unwarranted grazing of skin on skin had him turning on yet another perpetrator. Swinging them into his grasp like a rag doll, he grabbed the chin and spun the head on the body as quickly as he could, hearing the loud and unmistakeable âSnapâ. A head of blonde hair hit the ground in front of him, a casualty of an overdose on PCP. And in this drug induced madness, he could care less that heâd just become responsible for mudering Amelie Woods, moving on to the next face in his line of vision.

Her hands were shaking ridiculously, she had never had this happen. She was always one for steady hands. She balled her hands into fists as she finished changing. At first glance nobody would have guessed it to be her her hair was pulled in a messy ponytail, she was wearing a jacket over a t-shirt, and surprisingly enough she even had a pair of jeans. Luckily due to the ruckus caused by the so called pride day she was able to sneak out of the castle without giving anybody a reason to be suspicious.
It was far too easy. Why couldn't someone had caught her? It would have given her an excuse to make her father do his own dirty work. Convince him that she was not ready for this sort of task, because she really wasn't.Â
The walk to Skylar's home was even shorter than Eris remembered. She pulled her hood on and knocked frantically on the door. Looking over her shoulder glad that everybody around her was far too busy to take notice of her nervous energy. Eris could feel the lump in her throat growing as she prayed to Merlin that Skylar wasn't home. That she had heard about the chaos at Hogwarts and had chosen to spend the day anywhere else. Her face fell only a little when Skylar answered her face immediately turning to a look of concern.Â
"Eris? Shouldn't you be at school? Is everything alright?" She asked putting a comforting hand on her shoulder.Â
Eris shook her head. The act was on. There was no going back at this point. "I didn't know what to do. The school is a mess I just couldn't stay there I had to get out and I didn't know where to go.." She rambled her voice cracking, though not for the reason that Skylar likely suspected.Â
Sklyar hushed her quickly ushering her inside and closing the door behind them. "It's fine, it's fine. You know everything will be sorted out. I'm sure Aleck is taking care of it all right now. You have no reason to worry your school will be back to normal and you can go back to making us all proud in your studies." The younger girl flinched at the statement causing the other girl to wrap her in a hug. "Eris everything is going to be--" She was cut off by her own gasp.
Eris don't know how it had happened. It was almost mechanical how she had reached into her pocket and grabbed the knife before literally stabbing her cousin's wife in the back. The irony was lost on her at the moment. "I'm sorry." She choked out tears slipping down her cheeks as Skylar fell to the ground. "He gave me no choice I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry." She sobbed over the older woman until she stopped breathing. At least it was a quicker death than her father would have provided, but she had to make it look otherwise.Â
After she had regained enough control she then went on to make the murder more satisfying to her father. She knew he would be around to check on her work. She struggled through her tears to get Skylar sitting upright in a chair and bound her wrists tightly to it. She then went forth stabbing multiple areas pretending the body belong to someone else. Her anger at that someone taking over as she slit the poor dead girl's throat. She eventually stepped back wiping her eyes and staring at her work. He will be so pleased. Perhaps almost even proud about how she had just destroyed the life of her cousin. She ripped the jacket off and threw it in the fire.Â
She took a very long route back to the castle. She found a nice place to hide the knife, somewhere nobody would ever find it. She wasn't even sure if she would ever be able to dig it up again. She returned quietly to her dorm room not speaking to a single soul as the chatted about the happenings of the day. Instead she hid under the covers sobbing silently as the images of what she did replayed in her mind endlessly. She would not be sleeping anytime soon.
I found out today that my best friend for yeeeeears when I was little in elementary school shot and killed her father recently. She always seemed a little off but I never expected actual murder, then again, it's been years. She's only 17. Sigh, I don't know what to do
My name is Chris,
I am three,
My eyes are swollen..
I cannot see.
I must be stupid,
I must be bad,
What else could have made,
My daddy so mad?
I wish I were better,
I wish I weren't ugly,
Then maybe my mommy,
Would still want to hug me.
I can't do a wrong,
I can't speak at all,
Or else I'm locked up,
All day long.
When I'm awake,
I'm all alone,
The house is dark,
My folks aren't home.
When my mummy does come home,
I'll try and be nice,
So maybe I'll just get,
One whipping tonight.
I just heard a car,
My daddy is back,
From Charlie's bar
I hear him curse,
My name is called,
I press myself,
Against the wall.
I try to hide,
From his evil eyes,
I'm so afraid now,
I'm starting to cry.
He finds me weeping,
Calls me ugly words,
He says its my fault,
He suffers at work.
He slaps and hits me,
And yells at me more,
I finally get free,
And run to the door.
He's already locked it,
And I start to bawl,
He takes me and throws me,
Against the hard wall.
I fall to the floor,
With my bones nearly broken,
And my daddy continues,
With more bad words spoken.
'I'm sorry!', I scream,
But it's now much to late,
His face has been twisted,
Into a unimaginable shape.
The hurt and the pain,
Again and again,
O please let it end!
And he finally stops,
And heads for the door,
While I lay there motionless,
Sprawled on the floor.
My name is Chris,
I am three,
Tonight my daddy,
Murdered me.
And you can help,
Sickens me to the soul,
If you read this,
And don't pass it on
I'll pray for your forgiveness,
You would have to be,
One heartless person,
Not to be affected,
By this Poem.
And because you ARE affected,
Do something about it!
So all I ask you to do,
Is pass this on!
Found this and started crying... it's heartbreaking.
