You should have known better than to trust a trickster. A deceptive, selfish and yet too good to be true God who insisted on keeping your relationship surreptitious, for his benefit.
How did you ever fall for his promises? His illusions of romance, his lies. Him and his silver tongue.
You had been a fool. A fool unceremoniously in love with Loki.
All cried out, you laid in bed, blankly staring at your ceiling, trying so hard to feel something, anything. But you couldn’t.
The skies opened outside, disturbing the silence of the night with sounds of heavy downpour, much like the tears and heartbreak had to your rose tinted fantasy.
It took a while to realise someone calling your name from outside your window, as your trance broke and you willed your body to move.
As you got closer, the voice sounded familiar, the one you had hoped you heard sooner at the same time wished never to hear again.
And there he was, dressed in Midgardian attire that were now completely drenched, hair plastered to his face, eyes searching yours.
“How’ve you been pet?” Loki called out, eyes full of worry.
Don’t fall for his bullshit, it’s all an act. You kept repeating to yourself as your fists clenched and you blinked the emotions away, gulping the knot down that had formed in your throat.
“It’s pouring outside, what are you doing here?” Voice way too quiet from lack of use but you were sure it reached him as he gave you a hurt smile, almost making you question yourself for asking the obvious question.
You said nothing, neither did he. Simply stared at one another through the curtain of rain that fell mercilessly, challenging the other to say something first.
“You’re not really here, are you?” You exhaled, as the tears returned and the little ember that had ignited inside went cold.
You fell for it again.
He wasn’t here, how could you have believed otherwise?
It was another illusion, another trick.
You turned and went back in, not waiting for the illusion to vanish into thin air.

PS: I love Loki, I didn’t want to write this! 😭💗
Loki’s fighting skills
Loki’s Knives
I just read this great post about Loki’s knives and why the idea that Loki is physically weak and no warrior at all is so popular while all his fighting scenes in the movies just prove the exact opposite.
Honestly, I wouldn’t like to cross that guy.
I think it’s a scam Loki and Thor have made up, and somehow the idea of Loki not being a skilled fighter got stuck in people’s minds.
So I wrote this ficlet to explain how the rumour got started...
Loki and Thor are ambling along a lonely, possibly dusty road. They had to sell their horses because the quest they spend several months on went wildly wrong, and the brothers have found neither fame nor fortune on their way.

Where do you think I went wrong?
A/N : Just a small “Letters from Loki” if you will. Thought of writing this while I did re-runs of all the Thor movies! Feedback’s most welcome.
Pairing : No pairing
Warnings : Written in Loki’s POV. Not a happy ending :(
Raised as an Asgardian prince alongside my loud & proud brother Thor. I dreamt that one day I could sit on the golden throne and rule Asgard. That I, like Thor, was born to be a King. Where do you think I went wrong? It then came to my knowledge that I was nothing but an abandoned child left to die on Jotunheim, only to be picked up by Odin to bring home along with the casket - the Frost Giants’ source of power back to Asgard. A living breathing relic kept away as an object to bring about peace between the two realms, if the need arose. A life altering truth hidden from me under false pretense. Enraged. Hurt. Shaken. Pitied.
Where do you think I went wrong?
Asgard once promised to me was handed over to the pompous and "worthy" Thor. An intention to rule over Midgard overtook me. Again with a false promise of me that would be the ruler, someone with endless power. My path was that of destruction and death.
That was where I was wrong.
Sentenced to spend the remainder of my days in the dungeons for my actions. A mere handful of mortals hurt and I’m the most dangerous criminal, when I am certain Odin has been knee-deep in blood ever since he was King. As far as I’m concerned, Asgard would’ve prospered better if left in my hands than his.
Where do you think I went wrong?
I lost Frigga who raised me as her own son even though I wasn’t, never lost hope that I would be a wise man, a good brother one day. I tried, Mother. Even though your other son continued to be a witless oaf, nonetheless my brother. I used my trickster abilities to my best when we fought the Dark Elves. That ended rather tragically for me. Or I made everyone believe so. I faked my death. I’m not a God of Mischief for nothing after all. Sending Odin to exile on Midgard while I ruled over Asgard disguised as the All Father was rewarding. At least for a while. Until we faced the wrath of Hela - The Goddess of Death, a sister we didn’t know we had, as told by Odin on his last day. His time had come, he said. He loved both his sons, he said.
Ragnarok was upon us. Surtur was destined to be Asgard’s doom. Hela could no longer draw power from Asgard since it was up in flames. She was defeated. In the end, as Odin said, Asgard is not a place, it's the people. Thor became the saviour, Asgard’s rightful King. My brother. Everything seemed to be right. Thanos found us. Looking for the tesseract. It was supposed to be burnt to ashes in Asgard’s vault wasn't it? Well. I am not the God of Mischief for nothing.
The tesseract in exchange for my brother’s life. Thanos assumed I had a preference. I did. I saved my brother, handed over what he desired, but not without a fight. I had a few tricks up my sleeve. Perhaps the last of tricks. It failed. I was powerless against the mighty Thanos. Death came. There were no resurrections this time.
Where do you think I went wrong?
I know I'm late, but Loki would love Halloween.
