Summary: The first years were having their exams in alchemy yet an accident resulted in really fucked up shit.
It has been 5 days since the headmaster called mc and found them a way back to their home yet mc declined the offer and decided "hey I may be magicless but NRC felt much more of a home than back where they came from especially with the pandemic, have my boyfriends here. So I'll be staying and continue to ignore that they were an underpaid therapist. yada yada."
Crowley didn't even hide that he was relieved of the latter's decision, when the boys heard about this they were overwhelmed with joy, which result in the first year's determination to pass their exams to be able to make a surprise party for Mc and brag of course and that they passed the exam without cheating(this is mainly the Adeuce duo) and all and get special treatment from Mc don't tell the 2nd & 3rd years, ok.
Today was the last day of suffering and their final test would be Alchemy. Yet the group did their all recalling the lessons they had, the reviewers they made, their study sessions, etc., and was doing pretty well!
As Crewel was about to check their product, a student from a group just a few meters from them accidentally slipped, causing their cauldron's product to spill on the person nearby, Mc.
A vast green smoke and little gold fireworks erupted enveloping the whole room. Crewel immediately took action and ordered his pups to go out immediately while covering their nose while he opens all the windows to ventilate the room then proceeded to check on his pups and scold the clumsy ones.
"Behave you ruly pups! Now, where is Mc they were the ones to get exposed by the potion that group 3 was made. They should probably be growing plants on their head by now..." He stated as searched for his pup only to notice that they were not among the group.
"group 2! Where is Mc?!" He said as he ponders on how did these irresponsible pups survive 7 overblots IN A ROW!
"Wasn't Mc with Grim?" Ace asked.
"Nooo! They were beside you! Grim was gathering the ingredients."
"Yeah! You both told me to get 2 raven feathers from the supplies!"
"Oh, you got to be kidding me..." Crewel mumbles as he immediately returns to the classroom to check on his magicless pup yet there were no sign of life in the room. 'That can't be? The potion doesn't make one go invisible unless...!'
"Group 3, recite the procedure and ingredients of your product!" Crewel asked as he went to check the cauldron of the said group yet...the contents were all gone evaporating along with the smoke which shouldn't have happened. As the student told him the ingredients they used and the procedures, he recognized this as a transportation potion so he immediately reported it to the staff and started a search party for his lost pup yet there were no signs of the ramshackle prefect.
Even with the collaborations of the dorm leaders and the rest of the gang even with the help of Malleus.
It was almost as if they...returned to their original world...but Crowley did confirm that such a simple potion won't be able to bring them back to their homeland.
Days turned to months, then a few more, and more till the year ended and now the 1st years were soon 2nd years, 2nd years were now soon to be 3rd years, And the 3rd years were incoming 4th years...yet they still try their best to spare some time to continue searching for Mc...they do not want to lose hope yet but they can't help feeling guilty even the staffs...Mc decided to stay right? plus it was only a transportation potion! it is commonly for a short distance only! They can't possibly go to a different dimension or something?!
Right...?
The opening ceremony just finished. As new students are sorted into their dorms. Malleus has finally been invited yet he along with the rest of the group felt empty like a picture missing some pieces, knowing that one of them is still out there looking for a way to return to them.
They proceeded with life just how it normally was, going to their dorms, classes, and bonding with one another. The 4th years were able to come to check on them from time to time to make sure they ain't doing something stupid once again.
...
Yet after a few days, a miracle finally occurred...or was it really a miracle(?)
As the now 2nd & 3rd years were off to lunch while arguing about the silly thing they did in class, they met with the 4th years.
"Ughh. These potatoes never learn." Vil said as he retouch his make-up.
"Just because I am not often IN school means the THREE of you will continue causing chaos all around campus!!" He said while fuming red.
"Riddle, calm down."
"Woohoo! Let's all take a selfie!! #another beautiful day at NRC #Adeuce still causing havoc #reunion" Cater said as he takes photos of everything.
"I'm surprised Leona-senpai is being quiet today" Epel exclaimed.
"I did train him on proper manners and etiquette for a while, Looks like he finally learned from it." Vil said with a smug grin.
"Fnyah! Do you smell that!"
"Grim we ain't animals like you."'

But as soon as he opens the door, what he saw made his smile drop and horrified him and the others who followed.
There sat the one and only magicless human, who saved their lives so many times. Screamed as soon as they laid their eyes on them.
"Nononononononononononnono! This can't be! I FINALLY GOT HOME! I-I CAN'T BE BACK! MIRROR BRING ME BACK PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!" They chanted as they crawled to the mirror banging it softly.
They can't help but notice how much they lose weight, the huge dark circles underneath their tired and scared eyes, and the scars and wounds all over their body.
They were so confused and had so many questions. How did this happen? Why do they look like shit? And WHY are they afraid of them?
Grim tried coming closer and tried talking to them yet they pulled out a knife from their hoddies pocket, stood up, and pointed it at them.
"Don't you fucking dare come any closer to me! You-you monster!" They shouted eyes full of hatred fear and so much pain.
"Hey- Mc no need to call Grim like that! Please calm down!" Kalim nervously said raising both his hands as he try to come closer as if trying to tame a wild beast.
"DON'T YOU DARE! YOU FAKE BASTARD!!" They said as they pointed it towards him.
This made them so much confused. Mc would never say such words towards them nor would they threaten Kalim & Grim! They love and adored him so much!
"Mc! What's the fuck is your problem stop this now!" Ace shouted worried about Mc and was full of rage. Not to them never! it was to the people that used their faces to harm someone very dear to him. He may not be as good as Deuce in fighting he still wanna throw some hands
"Ace...please calm down! You'll be scaring them more!" Deuce warned as he pulled Ace back but he too could not hide his rage on whoever did this to his friend and lover.
All of them were in shock and full of rage...How did a simple potion accident go into this?!
RO's reactions towards an overworked/workaholic MC who treats their job as a way to escape their truma?
Loreena: She would be worried, but she knows what trauma can do to a person. She wouldn't intervene unless it got too bad. (Like not sleeping or eating for days on end.) She would just try to be there as much as she could. Offering up distractions if it meant you would feel better.
Robin/Robyn: R would try to make you laugh and do everything they could to pull you away from your work. They know that your work is important to you, but that doesn't mean you get to shrug of basic necessities to your survival in favor of it.
Edmund: Edmund would be tense the entire time. Staring at you with an impassive gaze before glancing at the clock. That would happen for a couple moments, before he would sigh and take you to bed. He wasn't going to have a sleep deprived Dracaryean on his hands. (Nor an unhealthy one.)
Esmé: Esmé is the queen of being a workaholic. For a long time her work was all she had, barring a few close friends, so Esmé would know exactly what to do. (After all she sometimes works 20 hour days... her personal record is two weeks.) She woud simply take you in her arms and do anything that you asked, within reason and if it didn't involve work of any kind, she knows that your brain needed to do something. Anything to keep it busy so you didn't remember. And she would be an excellent distraction.
Ayleth: Ayleth probably wouldn't notice it much at first. Not that she wouldn't notice something was wrong with you, but she just is oblivious to that sort of thing sometimes. However, when she does notice she would do everything in her power to curb that hobby. Trying to talk to you about your problems, because what you were doing wasn't healthy. How you were coping wasn't healthy, and she would want to do anything she could to help.
Cedric: Cedric would notice right away because he has been with you for so long. He would try to do everything that worked when you were both children. Any distraction is a good distraction, as long as death wasn't involved, and he would be more than sure to keep it that way.
Caspian: Caspian is well aware of the coping mechanism in place. It was one of things he probably pegged you for the moment he saw you. Knowing this he would have ample time to prepare for it. Making sure that any signs would be dealt with, because he has seen what a habit like that can do to a person. And he won't let it happen to you.
Aghadi: Aghadi would try and be gentle about it. Making sure that you still had everything to eat and drink while you were working. Bringing it to you in manageable pieces, because he knows you won't eat it if it means that too much time would be spent chewing. However, if it went on for too long he would take you away from you work. Wanting to let you destress in a different environment.
Phenir: Phenir would feel saddened that this was happening, but he wouldn't be underprepared for it. He would do his best in helping you, but he's never been that good with understanding things. (Mostly because he gets so flustered.) He would make sure that you had everything you could ever ask for and more.
Revian: Revian wouldn't put up with it. She would not be one to coddle such behavior. She understands that work is important but taking it the degree you have is too far. She would never be one to say that such a bad habit was good. She wouldn't stand to side and let you wither away. She wouldn't let your mind take control and shut down like it has done. She would fight for you with everything that she was.

It's been 6 months...6 months since the incident. And they barely made much progress...
6 months since the love of their life came back but is in a terrible state and despised and feared them so so much.
3 months since they found a spell to see Mc's memories to find the truth and is horribly haunted by it.
They were so lost...
They wanted to help...but how?
How can they help someone that used to love them so much but now despised them so much that they would rather drop dead than have them close...
If only they could find a way to turn back time to avoid such things happening maybe their life would remain as it was? or become official lovers and all...?
...
But this won't stop them from trying...
It is a challenge but if it is to get them to trust and befriend them once again or at least...have them not look at them with eyes filled with fear, uncertainty, and so much hate.
it has only been 6 months so it's ok! Even if it would take them years and so to help them. It's ok even if...it means having to return them back to their own world...
So it is not the time for them to dilly dally and lose hope. It's time to pay them back for everything they've given to every single one of them.
In those 6 months, they started with itty-bitty steps...by allowing them to adjust at their own pace and also 'finally' getting a therapist and a counselor for the school.
They've also sought advices and to do's and not to do from people with a wide knowledge of such cases.
They did their best to not to trigger traumatic flashbacks by avoiding sending too many presents, less contact, and trying to be as calm and patient as they could whenever they are nearby to not overwhelm and pressure them.
Instead of forcefully conversing with them in person instead they try by giving encouraging notes/messages or simply encouraging them to let out everything they feel and etc. Or sending them flowers and little trinkets.
"Hello Mc! This is Riddle...I can't really say to you to stop worrying or everything is alright so...instead, I wish you to get better soon! If you are still not comfortable with our presence it's ok take your time! I know you might be thinking I'm doing this to control you and all but all of us are being sincere in proving we are better than our alters.

They couldn't blame them to start crying and panicking when they were nearby or when receiving their gifts and letters...so it's ok. But of course, they also seek professional help to also avoid another overblot.
Because of it all slowly they start having improvements like them not having panic attacks when passing by and on some occasions, they would even text back.
It was very little but for them it is everything.
It motivates them to do more but notes not to overdo it, to go forward because little by little they are slowly but surely putting down their walls.
They even had the chance to sometimes be able to chat with them in person but behind doors/walls.
Grim could even visit them occasionally in person!
And some of the trinkets and presents they gave them weren't always thrown or burnt.
it was a great improvement which made them so so glad!
although they still try to commit suicide and inflicts self harm it was less worst than before.
So they continue to do as they did and would only do things when they feel comfortable in doing so.
It has already been 2 years already and...
"Hey Mc, Let's sit here!" Ace shouted as he sat at an empty table.
"Mmh...kay" they answered.
"Myehehehe! Look Mc! I passed the test!" Grim proudly said.
"That's nice!" They said with a soft smile as they petted the cat monster's head.
Although their reply tends to be rather dry and empty at times it is fine. They are happy to study, hangout, and spend time alongside them.
The graduates would also often visit them when they have time they too notices the differences but are satisfied to how it is now.
"Ace! Deuce!"
"Shit...heyya Riddle-senpai! Long time no see!" Ace said as he nervously rubs the back of his head.

Soon all of them are finally present in the cafeteria causing a lot of the 2nd to 1st year's to admire them although with such childish displays from each and everyone of them Mc can't help but chuckle and feel more at ease.
Hearing Mc laugh at their antics made their hearts swell with pride and joy. They've did well. Although they wouldn't be like the person they were before it makes them so happy to see them feel more comfortable than before since the incident.
Although it was quite a shame they couldn't take their friendship to another level yet...it was still fine. They can't really put all their efforts to waste when they've already reached this far! They just need to be more patient and understanding.
Besides if it weren't for their new found 2nd and 1st year's friends they couldn't have done better.

It has been really hard for them to trust, love, and smile once again. Without their friends, they would have long been 6 feet under. It was a really traumatic experience and they truly wish these kinds of moments stays forever and that they would NEVER meet their alters once again.
Their heart may have shattered and was beyond repair, but their friends still gave their all in sharing theirs slowly while slowly but surely building up their broken heart, although the cracks remain they built a foundation to make be like how it used to be yet warmer and filled.
'I really am lucky to have such people by my side. Soon I will be finally spending these moments with less worry and pain.' They thought as they join in the fun.

They all continued to shout and beg them to dispose of the gun, Ruggie and Jamil were choosing whether to use their unique magic so they'll avoid the death of their beloved but if they do wouldn't they hurt them further?
"I'm too tired already...I trusted every single one of you and loved you with all my heart. Did my all to avoid death and even offered my heart to all of you! I stayed cause I love you fully knowing I'll be abandoning everything my pet, family, friends, life, everything! Yet you repaid me by loving me in the most twisted and sick way. Removing my rights and treating me like I am nothing but a doll you can use for your comfort! I don't mind having sex, kissing, etc. but what you all did was too much already!" Just had an interesting thought what if the mc developed a fear of fire because of the very traumatizing prologue, that would be quite the problem for them wouldnt it if thats not a plan to be put into the book can we get the Ros and Eamons reactions to mc having such a fear, please?
This will actually crop up during the story. But not in the way you're expecting (I think). So I will have to give a non-answer to this, but Ayleth's route is very interesting if your MC has this affliction.
