Random neu-to-masc passing advice that doesn't hinge on "throw away all of your personality/interests/fashion and be a generic asshole frat bro" or "develop an eating disorder"
- large horizontal stripes on a very-slightly-baggy shirt can help mask your chest better at a front view even without binding. small horizontal stripes or vertical stripes, on the other hand, may emphasize curves. Big blocks of color and anything that doesn't center focus right to the chest are always a good choice. Very oversized crop tees can also help reduce the view of curves while still having interesting designs!
- if you don't have easy access to T (or T isn't blessing you with the explosion of hair) but can get access to minoxidil (most drugstores carry it), it's a great way to start facial hair growth. Be careful to not get it on/in your mouth or ears, and try not to over-apply. You won't need a full dose since it's such a small area. Once some grows in, light brown hair dye will make your new growth very noticeable yet more natural than the average mascara-stache. Be very careful around animals after applying minox (vasodilators are EXTREMELY toxic to pets) and start slowly or you might get hives like I did TTuTT
- building confidence in even small ways contributes a lot to the energy you give off - for fucked up misogynistic reasons confidence is seen as an inherently masculine trait. Take advantage of that and the effort you put into your appearance will reflect tenfold.
- if you're partial to heavy eyeliner/eyeshadow looks, getting almost costume-y with it rather than a standard catseye can help make the look androgynous - and a hell of a lot more interesting. Throw some extra lines, extra color, a couple random shapes, or just anything you want there. Go wild with it. Pretend you're the lead singer of a band opening for Kiss and see where it takes you.
- also if you want androgynous to masculine makeup inspo that isn't to just "pass as a generic cis guy", glamrock and scemo bands across the last several decades had a lot of wild looks that can be good to look into and build off of
