It's time to get comfortable with gender non-conformity and intersex bodies. Like, right now.
The trans woman with facial hair and body hair? Or is Masculine presenting? She's not some "clocky offensive caricature" she's a person existing in her body.
The trans man who wears pretty clothing? Who may or may not have breasts, who doesn’t have a high masc transitional goal? Yeah He's not "a fetishized clocky caricature by gross yaoi fangirls"—he's living his truth.
When a non-binary person presents in ways that don't fit your Westernized notion of androgyny or neutrality , they're not "clocky" or "trying to avoid being put into camp trans man/trans woman." They're just being themselves.
Non-binary people who present masculinity aren't "basically trans men" and those who present femininity aren't "basically trans women." They're not as I’ve seen some nasty people say “diet versions” of binary trans genders, they're whole, complete identities.
And intersex bodies of all gender identities and configurations ranging from ambiguous traits, “CTF” or “CTM”? They're not "theyfabs" or "theymabs” “herms” “fakers trying to access certain privileges over real tm intersex people.” Which to perisex folks is the stereotype configs of Ovotestes. material." They're not even "binary cis/trans people with a disorder." They're simply human bodies that exist beyond your binary and perisex expectations.
Perisex and intersex agender, sexless, transsex, varsex, and altersex individuals aren't "traitors running away" from the fight. They're not "deranged" or "unrealistic." They're living authentically in ways you haven't bothered to understand.
The person with more than four gender expressions—masc, fem, neu, androgynous, xenine, outherine, preterine, and kenine? Yeah hi I exist and I’m not not "some confused tumblr kid in a phase." I’m over 25 and living my truth.
Lastly the trans person using “contradictory labels” neopronouns, xenogenders and weird names? They're not mocking anyone they’re just trying to find language and expression that fits their experience.
Your discomfort isn't their problem. It's yours. Grow up.
Welcome to the first Trans&GNC Prompt of the Week! Each Friday we'll be asking the community a question:
What is a piece of clothing/accessory that makes you feel gender euphoria? Why do you think this item in particular makes you feel this way?
Comment, reblog, or submit an ask detailing your answer! We would love to hear from you!
helped my friend figure out they were agender after they came to me for help regarding their gender oh my god i have never been happier for someone in my life
highkey, stop sorting gnc and trans people together. Especially since Trans-GNC people are somehow not apart of it...it's almost like this logic is based off of trans-gncphobia.
For example A masc woman and a GC trans man have vastly different experiences and struggles. People only mention "overlap" because they misgender trans men, and see masculine women as MEN. They can't seperate allinity vs gender.
Which is why I don't like the consolidation of transmasc/transfem to meaning both GNC and GC trans people when they've always been distinct classes of people who've always existed, the grouping of them exists as a poor understanding of GNC people, and completely ignores Trans-GNC people as a real class of people. Then slurs like "theyfab" "pooner" or "cislite" are thrown at us just for existing.

"Trans women don't have to shave their beards or get bottom surgery or do voice training. Women can look however they want!"
Cis gnc woman: I want to grow a beard and have a deep voice and flat chest
"Ummm but at that point aren't you basically trans or at least nonbinary? Women typically don't want to have male traits :/ Do whatever makes you happy but you probably aren't a woman if you feel that way jsyk"
So what you're saying is that "real" women wouldn't choose to have those traits if given the choice. You're saying that a woman who likes having facial hair is a man or at least not Fully A Woman. Have you thought about this? Think about this next time a woman says she's cis and wants hrt. thanks.
Let's do a little poll:
Note: this post discusses trans gender nonconforming (GNC) people. These are trans people who's gender expression doesn't align with society's expectation for their gender identity. For example, a trans person who identifies as male but also chooses to dress in a very stereotypically feminine way (also known as the OP of this poll)
Is someone in your life both transgender and gender nonconforming?
I know one person who is trans and GNC
I know several people who are trans and GNC
I myself am trans and GNC
I have met a trans and GNC person/people but only in passing
I have never met a trans and GNC person
I have never heard of these terms/See results
This blog is dedicated to celebrating those of us who are transgender and gender nonconforming. Please consider checking it out or interacting!
Explaining my gender is so hard. Like yes, I am a boy. But I'm not exactly not a boy. But I am definitely not a girl. I'm a boy but not, y'know?
