of all the things in undertow i love getting to write about i think the girls' different initial reactions to the revenant is still among my favorite little tidbits of characterization. dede and pj instantly jumping to "oh my god it's ash" vs. han and kass' immediate gut feeling that that whatever that fucking Thing is ash is no longer present in that body. hannah especially noticing all these little quirks of the revenant's movement that are distinctly Not Aisling Deane and how pj (former gf of the deceased) feels like. obligated. to play ashamed. that she didn't recognize these tiny details despite the fact that this is just a thing hannah is known to obsess over. it's all about perception babyyy
