Honestly, I think part of what has kept me from transitioning is that I'm reluctant to have this period of my life as my first memories of being trans/genderqueer. I feel like a lot of the things I have accomplished/that I'm proud of have the name Emily on them, and I'm reluctant to de-identify with that because it's kind of keeping me going right now when I'm not functioning so well.
