03/178: I've said it a million times, but one of my favorite aspects of living a #transientlife is the random oppourtunities that come your way. Today, via a random request on Facebook messenger, I found myself getting to model for a "hippie, but not too hippie," hemp clothing called @virblatt . While opportunities like this exist everywhere, I found that I became much more aware and receptive to expanding my comfort zone after leaving my secure life back home. It seems that after taking that first step towards change, more doors and windows have opened than I could've magine. I can't always explain what I'm doing or how I found myself here, but I do know it started with a leap of faith. ~ Flight Attendant Real Talk ~ 02•28•2018 Sometimes Real Talk comes in the form of a reality check. As most of you who follow me know, I'm based in Orlando, FL. I've been planning to transfer to Las Vegas, NV all along - hoping to make the transfer coincide with the end of my year-long lease in Orlando. (I chose Orlando as my first choice of bases because when I graduated training my airline hadn't opened the Vegas base yet.) Well, I'm still over 2 months away from my lease being up, and my apartment needs a decision in the next few days regarding whether or not I intend to renew. I haven't even begun looking for apartments in Las Vegas yet, as I cannot even put in for the transfer yet. What if there are long wait lists for good apartments in Vegas? What if I'm not approved to transfer for May? What if I end up homeless? And to top it off, if I choose to stay in Orlando and renew my lease, my rent will go up $70 per month. For no apparent reason. This decision is looming, full of dilemmas and what ifs, and I only have a few days to decide. I'm not sure what to do. I love Las Vegas - I have since the first time I visited 7 years ago - but Orlando has grown on me in ways I couldn't have imagined. Am I a risk taker or a safe player? Am I Poker Alice or Snow White? Is there a right decision, or is right and wrong an illusion at this point?
