ok that’s it I’m gonna say it because I’m brave and I’m not gonna tag it much because I’m a coward.
I do not understand why Optimus Prime is portrayed as a twink so goddamned often. Most often in MegOP media, which I feel lends far better to like, toxic old man yaoi tropes in most media.
and like, do you want you want, be free! But… why is it so everywhere when the stereotype doesn’t fit well imo?
MAYBE this is because I watched G1 the most. MAYBE. But I’ve also seen Prime, and I don’t get it there. Prime OP has so much stress and is an overworked mf who is trying his damndest to keep like… 5 people alive while facing an entire goddamned army and also his nemesis who is doing evil space drugs. Is it really just the one plotline where his memories get yeeted, and the innocence he lost during the war comes back? His waist being thin? Is that what makes people twinkify him?
TF One OP also does not fit the role. Yes, he’s younger, and a bit sassy and snarky but there’s this like… idk, it’s like fanart that I see of him sands down all his rough edges. I believe the term is woobified?
So! for the sake of having a semi productive conversation, I genuinely want this question answered. Why do people tend to portray Optimus so heavily as ‘the woman in the gay relationship’, especially when it comes to shipping him Megatron?
