I've heard a lot of ppl talking about cisharmful vs transharmful identities and I want to talk about my opinion on this and how it differs from being trans.
"If you dont accept cisharmfuls bc they're harming people, but accept transharmful bc they haven't yet than you don't see that being as their ID! That means you dont see trans people as their gender either" is the idea I've heard thrown around, basically. So here's my hot take I suppose.
There's a big difference between types of transID.
Transharmful identities aren't just social identities like genders are but action-based identities. The fact is you can identify as harmful all you want, and you are your ID, to an extent. But because harm is an action that you must act onto another person I personally will never see a transharmful person as truly harmful unless they have/are transitioning.
Unlike harm, gender (and other things like race) are purely social and cultural, which means you are your gender 100% even without transitioning.
So yes, you can see certain transIDs differently than their corresponding cisIDs bc not everything is merely a social pr cultural construct like gender is.
This does not mean you should belittle someone's identities tho. Everyone and their identities are valid. I'm just stating why I personally will act differently between trans and cis harmful individuals. I also act differently between trans and cis gendered people too, due to their different experiences from one another
