"Ore-Haulin' Leviathan"

Duluth Missabe and Iron Range M-3 "Yellowstone" No. 227 thunders through Minnesota with a heavy iron ore train bound for the docks at Two Harbors where a ship will transport the ore to the Gary Works in Gary, Indiana. After being retired in 1963 following the conclusion of steam operations on the Missabe Road, the locomotive was put on display at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum in 1967 where it has remained ever since.

"Coastal Grandeur"

Southern Pacific GS-4 No. 4449 leads train No. 98, the Southbound Coast Daylight, towards Los Angeles while the passengers catch a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean.

"Electric Symphony"

Pennsylvania Railroad GG1 No. 4877 leads train No. 29, the Westbound Broadway Limited, out of Philadelphia and onward to Harrisburg where steam or diesel power, depending on what's available, will take over for the trip to Chicago. The Santa Fe 4-4-2 sleeper seen behind the BM70M baggage-mail car will be transfered over to the Los Angeles-bound Super Chief once arriving in the Windy City.

Climbing the steep 2.2% Grade of Cajon Pass, Southern Pacific SD40T-2 No. 8568, SD45R No. 7557, and SD40T-2 No. 8538 lead an eastbound trailer train while displaying the distinctive "Kodachrome" livery of the aborted Southern Pacific-Santa Fe merger.

New York Central S1B Niagara No. 6016 thunders through the rural countryside of Northern Ohio with an eastbound Pacemaker Freight Service train headed for Buffalo, New York.
