- seriously though, I don’t think I’m the only one that was surprised at the amount revealed regarding Spider’s storyarc, and an actual shot of him being saved by Eywa! They gave us everything in this trailer and I was not prepared!! I looove the detailed shot of him being /transformed/ by Eywa, it really confirmed a lot of theories about how it would happen. And him getting aKURU? Excuse me for a moment, I needed a lie down when I saw that 😭 this was all we’d literally ever wanted for spider, so to have it confirmed is just 🙌🏻 it opens up so many avenues in A4 and a5, alongside all the implications that it holds for the RDA. I would have said the good guys really needed to keep this locked down and not let the RDA even sUspeCT that something like this was possible, but we’ve all seen that Varang and Quaritch are well aware of it, so now Spider is in a pretty precarious position. Ardmore/Selfridge will almost definitely want Spider back for studying/testing etc and tbh this might just become their new top priority. If I was Neytiri I would probably consider yeeting him out of existence, and if the script leak is accurate, I think she has a pretty sane and tactical reaction to the knowledge 💀 Imagine the interstellar politics if word got back to Earth that humans could go through a modification that made them able to thrive on Pandora. Would the RDA try to cover it up? Would they immediately set in motion plans for mass-emigration from Earth? I need this explored as soon as possible 😭
- Then we have spider using his kuru and connecting to an ilu. I can now know peace. This seems to imply that he can connect to everything the way the Na’vi do, so could pass Iknemeya and get his own ikran, and when he’s older maybe have a traditional Na’vi relationship. The world is literally his oyster now, I can’t believe it. ALSO will we have a callback shot to when the rest of the sullys were learning to ride an ilu and this time it will be spider getting dragged behind 😭
- Quaritch and Varang!! What the hecK was going on there 🧐 I mean we all know but I’ll be honest I wasn’t expecting as much of the physical component as what seems to be being portrayed in the trailer. Ofc it’s possible (and I think more likely) Q was looking like *that* because of being up close to the fire and the fact that I think Varang is threatening to kill Q here anyway, because Q is basically begging her saying that she needs him if she wants to spread her fire. Secondly, I wouLD like to know why their bond glowed purple, almost like Q was being electrocuted by it?? We haven’t seen a purple glow before which is why I think jamcam could try and pass the act off as ‘definitely doesn’t mean they’re bonded for life like we’ve always been told’ (i think the ash people - or Varang at least - probably have different customs regarding the kuru bond)
- absolutely obsessed with Varang btw, what a queen. This trailer turned me from being indifferent towards her to now really looking forward to seeing what she’s going to be like. She wants to “spread her fire” all over Pandora? Okay queen, go off 🎀
- Toruk coming back?? It’s giving HTTYD when hiccup sees toothless again. I hope the music is suitably emotional/rousing 🙏🏻
- I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I am worried about the ending of this movie. I just feel that it’s gonna end on a cliffhanger (Jake being taken in by the RDA). We already know the film is going to be longgg, and there are so many plot points that I’m scared won’t be able to conclude even within a three hour runtime.
- “I’ll kill you! I swear!” NEED WE DISCUSS THIS. I really think spider is standing in front of Jake when he says this to Q, you can kind of see a Na’vi person behind him on the floor. spidey going from saving Q’s ass to trying to convince himself to kill him? Yes, I feel Q is leaning heavily more into his villain era in this movie, almost like jamcam is trying to push Q as far as he’ll go before Q ultimately sacrifices himself or something for the sake of Spider and spider’s cause. That’s my personal prediction anyway, but I don’t think we’ll see it until a4 or a5.
- then there’s the question of how and when the sullys find out spider saved Quaritch in the last movie. I wonder if it will come out at all, or if it will be forgotten in the storytelling (I REALLY hope it isn’t 😭). Fingers crossed for a really emotional confession from spider some point after Eywa saved him. I really don’t know how Neytiri would handle this, somewhere along the lines of ‘not well’
- honestly some of the shots in this trailer were jaw dropping. The best looking movie maybe ever made
- Neytiri still fighting Varang with an arrow in her shoulder? Mother
- Am I delusional or is it possible that the stillshot we have of spider and Quaritch in a cell(?) might not actually be bridgehead, but one of the labs that belong to the resistance? It sounds unlikely but we’ve not seen any other hints of spider getting captured beyond this image, and we know that Jake (and probably spider) do find themselves at a lab when Jake and norm seem to be looking at spiders brain scan and Jake says “what if every human could live on Pandora without a mask?” What if this is the day after Q spends the night with Jake and the kids in the forest, and Q is still with them? I am probably delulu because I can’t see Jake bringing Q anywhere near the resistance/High Camp and Q is wearing an RDA hoodie so… thought it was worth mentioning tho.
- steadfast believer that Jamcam gave spider a cloak as a personal gift to me, since we never got spider in Quaritch’s jacket
