Today's word count (chapter 1 + words for future chapters
Guys, I realize that this post is probably going to sound sponsored, but I can assure you that it’s not. (I wish I was at that level).
A few days ago I started a new writing project, nothing new for me, but I found myself missing NaNoWriMo. As a stats nerd, I missed being able to track my data. So I googled word trackers for writers or something along those lines and I just so happened to stumble upon a site called TrackBear. It’s completely free and it has a lot of features. So far it’s one of the better sites I’ve used for data tracking and it’s been keeping me motivated.
You can log hours, words, pages, chapters, and scenes. You can make goals and it will show you when you’re likely to reach said goal, how many words a day you need, etc. If you want, I’m pretty sure you can also make your profile public and, from what I remember, the default setting is keeping your account private.
If you miss NaNo, maybe give this a go?
Fall and Winter Write-A-Thon!
Hi all! Missing the community of Nanowrimo? I've set up a leaderboard on TrackBear in order to partner up with other writers on tumblr, track our progress, and cheer one another on. It's a very simple word count and progress tracker website.
To track your own projects along with me, follow this link
@sciroccoorion35 wins October, yay Lizzie!! But actually we are all winners here because we all finished the month with more words than we started with. Congrats @pfirsichspritzer, @coldswarkids and er, me. Will update the leaderboard with a November target shortly! Great writing everyone, hit the showers <3

What's your Rough Draft Month goal? Are you climbing to the top of a 60,000 word mountain? Hiking through a forest of 50,000 words? Maybe you're chasing a waterfall to the 30,000 word finish line or traversing a moonlight path as a lone wolf with a flexible goal. No matter what your goal is, we've got a map to guide you on your way. Set your goal and choose your trail.
Make sure to join your trail's leaderboard on Trackbear!

first of all good morning and you've answered this a thousand times but i can't find the post. What app do you use to write?
good morning my babyyyyy!! i was using ellipsus for a long time and i really like it (the interface is cute, they have a bunch of super cool features and they're viciously anti ai) but their spell checker is seriously lacking and for someone that isn't a native english speaker like me (fun fact, i am self taught in english! i had some very basic lessons as a kid and then the rest i had to learn on my own) what they offer just isn't enough, they let a lot of typos and grammar mistakes fly by so i had to go back to google docs which is what i use now (after i disabled all the ai features bc fuck that). also not a writing app but i do use trackbear.app to track my word count, progress with fics and writing goals and it helps soooo much with my motivation.
if anyone is doing nanowrimo but doesn't want to use the OG website because of their stance on AI (or just wants a year-round motivator to write), i've got a trackbear leaderboard you can join <3
for those who are unaware, it's a website where you can track the amount of words you write daily, and if you join a leaderboard, you can see yours compared to other writers'. you can count any project toward your word count - original works, fics, academic papers, etc, and there are no social aspects or servers needed to participate in a leaderboard
