LJ Roberts’s multimedia textile work maps the interconnected activist and creative communities of queer and trans cooperatives and collective houses in parts of Brooklyn in 2010–11, based on a drawing by Daniel Rosza Lang/Levisky. The work honors queer traditions such as the AIDS Memorial Quilt (1987–ongoing), a large-scale textile project that eulogizes those who have died from AIDS, and activist collectives such as ACT UP, Queer Nation, and Gran Fury. Incorporating the aesthetics of punk and DIY visual culture, Roberts collaborated with the artist Buzz Slutzky to represent each house with a crest. Eight years after this work was made, Brooklyn continues to be a thriving center for LGBTQ+ artists and others from around the world to gather and build community.
Now in its final days, see works by LJ Roberts and 27 other LGBTQ+ artists in Nobody Promised You Tomorrow before it closes on December 8.

"But how could transitioning save somebody's life?"
Transition (the act of undergoing surgeries, HRT, or adopting societal expectations of a gender) is a way for those identifying themselves as a seperate gender than the one they had been assigned as at birth to alleviate their gender dysphoria.
Just as I took antidepressants in order to help me recover from my severe depression, I will soon transition medically in order to help myself with my gender dysphoria.
Can a trans person love without medical transition? Yes. Will their lives be noticeably worse, and will they be at higher risk for depressive episodes? Also yes.
It may be something that's hard to truly understand, but transition can be a vital part, a crucial stepping stone in order to live a happier, more fulfilled life.
It's so interesting to think abt tho just how different everyone's experiences are. Even twins experience reality differently. As an agender person I do not understand the concept of gender in any way so my experiences are extremely different to ppl who do experience gender; I'm aspec too so my experience of attraction is vastly different as well.
Plus I'm white, 17, British, have 2 parents, have an older sister, suspected neurodivergent, speak 1 language, etc! No matter how similar I might be to someone I can never fully understand someone's reality. There are over 7 billion different realities all happening on 1 planet and they're all incredibly different to each other - and I'm only talking abt humans here! Some animals see more colours than us, some fewer, some animals fly or live under water, or live for 3 years or live for 100. We're all so different. It's so beautiful.

The A in ADHD actually stands for agender, asexual and also aromantic-
If your gender is your sex characteristics then that implies that trans ppl are only the gender they identify as once they've had surgery, but then that means intersex ppl are inherently non binary and I doubt that's true.
But then, what abt how there are plenty of non human characters in tv shows and films etc that cis ppl lov to assign gender to? Wall-E and Eva? They don't have any sex characteristics, hormones, etc but cis ppl swear that they're a man and a woman, not nb in any way, but that completely contradicts what they say abt how trans ppl don't exist hahahaha!!!
Transphobes are funny lol.
Might actually just keep my nails painted triple a forever tbh, I repainted them the other day and I just rlly like it like this. Very cool. My wardrobe rlly aint perfect in terms of what I actually like but I'm rlly glad that painting my nails triple a is a way I can express myself thats v low energy - I think I know generally what I want wardrobe-wise but I actually HATE buying clothes it's just so tiresome ugh, nail painting 100% 🖤💚💟💚💟💜🖤
