Day they died, I told Maria that I was done, that I wasn't going back. I'd just got home the night before. And when I woke up, I saw her face. It just came at me. But, like, the second it did, I knew it was right. It was like this this weight got got lifted off my shoulders, you know? For both of us, you know? She knew it was right. The kids, too. I was just ready, you know? It was time. I just I wanted to be with them. But that day, we went to that park, and the kids were too old for that stupid carousel, but that day they just laughed, you know? They were laughing. We were all laughing like idiots. And that laughter, it stuck with me, you know? After I lost them, it would just- It would echo, you know? It was over and over. And it wasn't just in my dreams. It was- like it was in my heart, you know? And I just I wanted to hold onto it. I wanted to live in it and just hear that laughter, but thing is, I can't hear it anymore. It's all I had. It's gone. All I have is the looks on their faces after the bullets ripped through their bodies.

The Punisher | Glitter and Gold [S2]
Wow okay so I know I’m late to this party but in an interview Lightfoot literally said people might see Karen Page and Frank Castle’s relationship as a “brother/sister” dynamic (or as romantic) and im just sitting here thinking REAL hard... I mean I guess if you wanna play it as a very close friendship sure, I guess. Some siblings are really close and would lean on each other for emotional support. Some of the scenes in The Punisher season 1 could get brushed off as that ie the hug. But I’ve never looked at my brother or touched him like he was my whole world... and that’s kinda Karen and Frank’s thing
Exhibit A
I mean this one is pretty self explanatory peeps. Frank saves Karen from a bomber after freaking out at Micro over the very idea of losing karen (and compared losing her to Micro losing his wife - yes, THAT happened in s1 we been knew folks) and then carasses her god damn cheek to make sure she’s okay... that is not sisterly
Exhibit B
In this moment they are saying goodbye again for the millionth time. They both know he needs to run (the police are outside the elevator), but he doesn’t say a quick goodbye and bolt. No. He stays a minute to look at Karen. They don’t say anything. No instead they just look longingly at each other and touch foreheads. Like, my god, the sadness and sexual tension kill me
Exhibit C
It’s from the same scene but my lord the amount of pain and longing portrayed by DAW in just this one look kills me. This is not sisterly folks
Exhibit D
They still haven’t kissed (they almost kiss god damn it! in tps2) but Frank has kissed her cheek and just look at Karen 👀 She def likes it
Exhibit E
I’m sorry but Frank pours his heart out to Karen and she takes his hand. He then goes about looking at her hand OVER twenty times in the scene - yes, that’s right, I fucking counted - as they talk and he looks so terrified, lost and yet blown away by the display of intimacy. It’s most definitely romantic. No one could ever convince me otherwise.
There are other moments I could use to illustrate my point, but BASICALLY if Lightfoot actually wanted to make this a platonic type of love instead of romantic (or even if he wanted to keep it ambiguous) then he shouldn’t have made the romance so obvious lmao. Like has the man even WATCHED his own show on the editing floor? All of these moments were in The Punisher, not Daredevil... so I’m confused and also laughing hysterically
