We completed our @KentuckyBourbonTrail Passports and got our free souvenir shirts in Bardstown, the Bourbon Capital of the World. . We visited all 10 Distilleries on the Trail as well as four additional Distilleries. The 10 on the Passport included the @Bulleit Experience at Stitzel-Weller, the @EvanWilliamsBourbon Experience, @AngelsEnvy, @JimBeamDistillery, @MakersMark, the Heaven Hill Bourbon Heritage Center, @FourRosesBourbon, @WildTurkey, @WoodfordReserve, and the Town Branch Distillery. We also toured @BuffaloTraceDistillery and @Barton1792, both of which are great visits regardless of them not officially being on the Trail. In addition, we squeezed in visits to @WillettDistillery (similar to @BuffaloTrace and Barton 1792, Willett certainly felt like it belonged on the Trail) and @BluegrassDistillers, both of which are nice stops on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour. . @TownBranchDistillery was our 12th stop...and our final official stop necessary to complete our @KentuckyBourbonTrail Passport (there are 10 distilleries on the official trail). Town Branch is part of @AlltechInc and is the only combined Distillery/Brewery on the trail. They're probably best known for producing Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale but also produce Town Branch Bourbon, Town Branch Rye Whiskey, Pearse Lyons Reserve Single Malt Whiskey, and Bluegrass Sundown. . Alltech has an interesting history, and one would wonder why the Town Branch Visitors Center has such an Irish theme to its interior (see the 4th and 5th pictures). But Alltech Founder Pearse Lyons is an Irish businessman who's first job was with Irish Distillers, which produced the impressive lineup of Jameson, Powers and Paddy Irish Whiskeys during Lyons' tenure with the company. Lyons went on the start Alltech in Kentucky in 1980 and more recently has returned to his roots with the opening of Pearse Lyons Distillery on James's Street in the Liberties, Dublin (Ireland), which is very close to @Guinness.
