The sudden realization is visible on his face, almost painfully so, and Jon leans back in, chapped lips less rough as he pushes back against the overwhelming heap of thoughts going through Tormund.

💡 - What was the motivation behind the story?

with intersections, i wanted to feature perspectives on the relationship that were outside of my usual. there’s a lot that’s missed when it’s from tom or greg’s POV, so i wanted to play with that a little by bringing in greg’s dad’s husband’s POV or bringing in a co-writer who wasn’t even me. like, i really just wanted to describe what they do and what they look like from afar when they stand next to each other. i also mentioned to you before that i didn’t want to fall back on the same story structure, so i thought maybe a collection of stories would be a good way to break out of that pattern. jury’s out on whether i managed to do that, but i’m pleased with it. there are a lot of stories within that universe i’ve wanted to explore, but *retired bill voice* no time, no time!

🎢 - Were there any scenes you were nervous about? For audience reception or otherwise?

i was so nervous about posting my first fic. at that point, it was really difficult to gauge what kind of person would even read it. there were fewer than 20 works in the tom/greg tag on ao3 at the time, but i felt like that was encouraging because it meant that maybe no one would read it.

⭐️ - What’s a scene/paragraph you’re proud of?

this is super trivial, but i’m proud of having figured out how telegrams work enough to know that you have to go to the telegraph office to send one out. i think it was the movie out of the past (1947) that helped me the most with that one. up until very late in the game, tom had sent greg to the post office to send it in “i’m your man”. rookie mistake.
