How to cope with your Heroine losing in a RomCom

After 96 charapters Hima-Ten has reached it's conclusion. It wasn't cancelled prematurely like countless other manga in the magazine no it just ended.

This was my favorite manga in Jump for the past year. I adored the chemistry between the two leads and any chapter that focused I read and reread multiple times. Especially the date chapter.

I've learned this lesson already but it bears repeating. My Best Girl might not always win, but the Main Characters's Best Girl will always win.

Like many people my anime fans my age. I have fond memories of Toradara, the RomCom that blew otakus away 18 years ago. Ami is by far my favorite character in the series. On top of being Hotter that Heatblast from Ben 10 she was the interesting, complex, and entertaining character in the story. I enjoyed her scenes with Ryuji and if I were him I would've gotten together with Ami instead of Taiga

But I'm not Ryuji.

Toradora is great because of the love story between Ryuji and Taiga as well as the side characters who support them and their relationship. Toradora would not be.

Now I'm not sure I could say the same about Hima-Ten.

Like I said it just ......ended. Tenichi chooses the girl he likes, there's a flash and the story is over.

Is it happy ending?

Is it a satisfying ending? No

Would my Best Girl winning make it better? I'm gonna sound like a bitter bitch but unfortunately, yes. Yes, it would.

As her days of pregnancy come to an end, Taiga finds herself feeling an incredible bliss as she awaits the day she gets to hold her daughters.

With her emotions all over the place, Taiga finds herself overreacting rather easily.

Being in her condition won't stop Taiga from teasing Ami a little. Unfortunately for her, that goes both ways.

The fear of that fateful day coming earlier than they expected is always looming over them.
