YG Entertainment has officially renewed the trademark for 2NE1.
YG Entertainment has officially renewed 2NE1's trademark, which was originally set to expire on July 6, 2025!
In September 2024, YG Entertainment filed a new trademark for "2NE1" under Class 28 (products & merchandise) and Class 41 (performances, music, and album production).
"This suggests that there may be plans to continue 2NE1-related activities beyond just this concert."
With YG Entertainment renewing the trademark for 2NE1, thereโs a strong possibility that the members might sign an exclusive group contract, allowing them to promote as 2NE1 under YG and potentially release new music.
There are speculations about a new album, but a YG Entertainment representative stated, 'Nothing has been confirmed regarding 2NE1's future activities. However, YG is fully committed to the 15th anniversary tour.'
If the application is approved, YG Entertainment will retain the 2NE1 trademark for the next 20 years."
