This has to be one of my favorite scents... the simple green yet musky smell of a fresh tomato leaf. I love tomatoes, but not as much as I love the smell of these leaves crushed between my fingers with a bit of morning dew. It’s such a sweet green smell... it takes me way back to summer days...forbidden kisses too... the scent of tomato leaves and the very fruit itself is said to be a potent aphrodisiac...tomatoes are part of the nightshade family ( Think aubergine, potatoes, chili peppers and all peppers, datura, henbane, deadly nightshade and mandrake!) and all of them, some of which are outright deadly, have a beckoning, lazy and somewhat narcotic energy. If you’ve ever seen honeybees sleeping in the flowers of a potato, Datura flower or deadly nightshade you already know what I mean. Take a few tomato leaves( provided you’re not allergic to them..), some basil and some fresh spearmint and crush them in your fingers and take a deep sniff anytime you’re stressed... one of the extra blessings of this summer beauty. Today's #perfumeoftheday is the most perfect spring scent ever made @annickgoutal_official Folavril 🌷 it means "April Fool" & was launched in 1981, used to perfume their skincare products 🌷 it's a fun & odd scent, with notes of tomato leaf, jasmine, mango and boronia flower (smells like sugared berries).
