A friend of mine wrote this. She put words to my broken heart. I’ve had enough. It’s time to get back to work. Time for the majority ( yes we’re the majority” to vote these people out of our government and out of our lives. ——————————————————— “ I was 16 when I went to Italy as part of a school trip with my Italian language class. I saw David in person. The sculpture is a breathtaking piece of art. Pornographic? Not at all. I was not harmed nor turned on by the viewing of a statue of a naked man. I promise. This whole “parents rights” movement is out of control. Stop it, folks. You are creating problems where there are none. Do you think the kids care if a drag Queen lip syncs to popular music and reads stories? They don’t. They want to sing along and listen to the story. Stop making something fun and innocent so nefarious. And if you don’t want your kids to go to Drag Story Hour: DO. NOT. ATTEND. You are in control of where your car goes. If your kids go to the library and check out a book you don’t want them to read, you can always take it back and explain to YOUR child why you don’t want them to read that book. And by the way, I had to get my mom’s permission to read VC Andrews in middle school and she looked at the librarian exasperatedly and said yes. Again, I was not harmed by a paperback. As for pronouns, non-binary, transitioning youth? Mind your own f’ing business. Especially if it’s someone else’s child. If it’s your own and you are having trouble, there are resources for help. GO. TO. THERAPY. Y’all are wearing people out (me. I’m people.) Life is hard enough without you creating problems that aren’t problems. You go live your life where you are. Be happy.
