Is @aerinbeauty Tuberose Le Soir a darker tuberose? Maybe, & the ambery vanilla dry down help ground the white floral. But maybe it's the vanilla + ylang ylang that keep this one just a bit too sweet & best kept for hot summer nights 🌌 surely there is a tuberose that is somewhere between the icepick of Fracas & the tropical tuberose we all know so well. Carnal Flower is close but it's a bit smothering at times & after smelling it everywhere I tired of it. If you follow me you've seen me mention Chanel N°22, always with reverence 🖤 aside from my beloved Bois de Iles Exclusif, Chanel N°22 edt is something completely different. My mother wore this fragrance for many years & whenever we would visit her house, I'd always spritz some on. This was back when it was "discontinued" for awhile (probably just not sold here) then came back & I found a bottle for her at my now closed favourite perfume boutique. That was the last time she wore it - over 25 years ago. Biddy was a toddler, Bunny was in elementary school & we'd spend every summer in Burnstown at mums. Fast forward to today...my mum has passed. I have a few mls of her old bottle of N°22 she gave me years ago. Finding a bottle of N°22 edt today is practically impossible. One of my oldest fragrance friends, an OG from the @realmakeupalley frag board days, sent me this bottle of vintage N°22. The experience of wearing this perfume is feeling not only like my mum is close, but that my daughters are little again.
