Olympia Soirée | bad ending

On a lighter note, I’ve been playing an otome game called Olympia Soirée. It’s pretty spicy and M-rated (although it fades to black before it goes into full-on smut territory), so it’s not going to be some people’s cup of tea, but one of the love interests in the game, Tokisada, is actually apparently based on Amakusa Shirō Tokisada:
Amakusa Shirō was martyred in real life at the age of 17 for leading a rebellion on behalf of oppressed Catholics in Japan. In the game, Tokisada arrives at Tenguu Island after he is executed in his home country, and a lot of his route deals with him trying to grapple with feeling responsible for the deaths of so many people who were involved in his cause back home, as well as feeling conflicted over Olympia wanting to bring radical change to Tenguu Island. It’s a fun little Easter egg that added a connection I honestly didn’t expect when picking up the game.
