Have we gave a real thought on how deceived have we been of this dunya? Like have we stopped for a moment, and asked ourselves why we do things for such a temporary pleasure?
We want things so much in this dunya that we give everything we have, the very best we have for us to attain such status, such fame, such want. For what? By Allāh, if we were this eager to perfect our imān, our ibādah, our 'ilm and amal, we would be able to justify that we indeed are the best of all people that things would be easier and completely blissful but no we do not, hence, we desire for this dunya so much even though we know that Allāh mentions in the Qur'ān;
"And the hereafter is better than this life" 93:4
[1] The abode of the Hereafter is better for you than this current abode. For this reason Muhammad ﷺ used to be the most abstinent of the people concerning the worldly things, and he was the greatest of them in his disregard for worldly matters.
Have we forgotten the way Muhammad ﷺ had lived? Have we forgotten how much he had no desire for this dunya? We say we love him, but we neglect this highlighted attitude of him towards dunya.
It is well known by necessity from his seerah that when Muhammad ﷺ was given the choice at the end of his life between remaining in this life forever and then going to Paradise, or moving on to the company of Allāh, he chose that which is with Allāh over this lowly world.
[2] 'Abdullāh bin Ma'ūd said, “The Messenger of Allah was lying down on a straw mat and it left marks on his side. Then when he woke up he began to rub his side. So I said, `O Messenger of Allah! Will you allow us to spread something soft over this straw mat’ He replied, “I have nothing to do with this world. The parable of me and this world is like a rider who rests in the shade of a tree, then he passes on and leaves it.”
What if the world sees you unusual, weird or strange by the way you act, the way you speak, the way you walk, the way you dress, do the mere words of His mere creations change the way Allāh sees you? NO.
My dear brothers and sisters in Islam, disregard all their comments, whether bad or good, what matters is how you present yourself to Allāh, how you honor Him, how you obey His commandments. This is what should matter, and these are what you should always ask yourself - Have I pleased Allāh? Do i please Allāh? What can i do to please Allāh?
How can someone be displeased by you when Allāh is pleased with you? He is Al A'la, He is Al Jabaar, The Most High, The Most Powerful.
It is your own choice, to dive into the darkness that this dunya has, or to walk away from it and venture to the path of Allāh. As you ask yourself, let me remind you of this ayāt from the Qur'ān;
"Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So he who is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire]. And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion." 3:185
Make your choice, be firm with it, for in the Qur'ān it is mentioned;
"Unquestionably, [for] the allies of Allāh there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve. Those who believed and were fearing Allāh. For them are good tidings in the worldly life and in the Hereafter. No change is there in the words of Allah . That is what is the great attainment.And let not their speech grieve you. Indeed, honor [due to power] belongs to Allah entirely. He is the Hearing, the Knowing." 10:62-65
Remember to attain something so good, you will need to pass through obstacles, so know that to attain Jannah you'll need to have much patience, trust in Allāh, able to sacrifice and withstand struggles. Remember Allāh is always with you. So fear not. Fear not O Muslim.
For indeed, glad tidings are given to those who believe, glad tidings are given to the strangers of this dunya.
