lol this post was actually inspired by this thing i wrote ages ago

It was nine o'clock when Altaïr finally woke up. The big numbers in red on his alarm clock were the first thing to greet him. He stupidly blinked at the device, almost expecting to hear a loud beeping emitting from it, but when a minute passed and no sound came, he just assumed it was safe to go back to sleep. Which sounded like an excellent idea because if he didn't need to be up, no sense in getting up then!

He rolled away from the clock, now staring at his still sleeping lover. Yup, totally safe to just go back to sleep since Malik was still in dreamland and there was still nothing to cause them to get up quuuite yet. Well, maybe there was something, but it probably wasn't important so no need for him to worry about it. Instead he just wiggled himself closer to the other man in the bed and snuggled up close, burying his face in the crook of Malik's neck and sighing, ready just to fall back asleep right there and hope Malik didn't roll over any time soon.

Except he didn't fall back asleep at all, just rested there in that position. The terrible thing about waking up early for work five days a week; once you're up, you're up, so get out of bed and go to work lazy ass. Except he didn't need to go to work today, it was Saturday. At least he assumed it was and that's why they were still in bed. Well, he could deal with just this, just using his lover as a pillow and not leaving the warmth of their bed. Yeah, that sounded like an excellent idea. It was until Malik finally woke up.

"Your breath stinks" the other man mumbled, cracking an eye open to stare at him sleepily.

"Sorry, you weren't awake yet so I didn't think I needed to smell nice or anything like that" Altaïr chuckled, flashing a grin. Malik frowned at him, so he just lifted his head to kiss the other man. "Augh, you're no better yourself there, handsome" he grumbled, chuckling again as a hand came up and pushed his face away.

"Shut up already. What time is it anyway?" Malik asked, rubbing at his face with the hand he had pushed Altaïr away with.

"Little after nine" 

"Shit, why didn't you wake me earlier?"

"Ah….cause I didn't?"

Malik let out a frustrated sigh and threw the covers off, Altaïr whining at the sudden burst of coolness. "Get some pants on and please go make sure the boys are alive at least. You can shower after me" Malik told him, rolling out the bed and shuffling off into the bathroom. He had the door closed before Altaïr could protest.

"No you" the brunette muttered at the bathroom door, slipping out of bed and grabbing a pair of boxers off the floor and pulling them. No, he just…no, he wasn't gonna go do anything at all. And in a very lame act of defiance, he just lied back in bed and lied there, staring at the ceiling. It was too early to have Malik ordering him around. Okay it was only nine and he really should have gone to check on their kids but why do that when he could act like a baby about it instead?
