The image of Jon on a carousel added 30 years to my lifespan
why are we overlooking how funny Martin's "I could speak to an attendant?" is. I'm so glad that even in the middle of Real Actual Armageddon, he's still finding time to lovingly make fun of his boyfriend.

you know, i’m not sure Jon’s powers can affect all the other entities in the same way that he was able to absolutely Obliterate Not!Sasha
like, the Eye and the Stranger are opposites and while Jon did make her feel the fear that her victims were going through, it was by doing something inherently in opposition to anonymity - exposing her to being Known
for other entities like the Dark or the Distortion, i think it would be much more difficult for Jon to actually affect them. the Dark because it is the direct opposite of the Eye, purposefully shrouding things so that they can’t be seen and the Distortion because it is meant to be un-understandable. it’s like looking at a graph of randomly plotted numbers and trying to figure out the pattern. there isn’t one, but for the Eye, which seeks to Know everything, the confusion and madness of the Distortion would be hell
like, it wasn’t like Jon did what Elias/Jonah said he could do to Melanie, place an image in her head. he didn’t put Not!Sasha through the actual suffering of her victims by showing her that pain. instead he made her feel a pain so great to her that it would be equivalent (or a fraction of realistically given there were so many people) to the suffering of the victims, but only to the Stranger
to be fair, the only other character Jon killed was Peter Lukas and again, it was because Lukas’s entity was based on being alone and distant and untouchable. for Jon to say “I see you” and be able to find him anywhere? to the point he would never be able to be alone? that’s against everything the Lonely has ever sought so of course it’d be effective to simply Know Peter Lukas
the only other thing i can acknowledge is that Jon has been “touched” by all 14 entities, so maybe that grants him a bit of leeway but really, i think it’s more like him playing rock paper scissors and his god just happens to be able to seriously Fuck Up some of the other gods/avatars
The music swells through you. The music vomits from you. The music calls a name that through the tears of half-grasped memories seems almost and eternally familiar.
the creepy poetry is such a vibe im loving it. also the jonmartin bonding over poetry i
