So here it is! I've been working up to this one for months 😁 The Magnus Archives honestly did change my life. Making fan comics about Jon and Martin helped me work up the courage to finally take the plunge into writing my own original webcomic. I owe a lot to Rusty Quill, and to everyone who's been following me all along! Thank yall so, so much 💖 Onwards to new projects! ✨

And then imagine being a doctor in that universe, and your next patient is some middle aged guy whose chest x-ray you are just about to review. And as you are about to enter the examination room you hear thru the (all too thin wall) his husband say

"Well, at least you have all your ribs now,"

And as you open the door your patient nods gravely and replies, "true."

Like imagine that poor doctor going thru her day, thinking did she mishear? But she would swear by what she heard. Is it some kind of obtuse in-joke? Except if so, why did the husband say it with a matter-of-fact tone of voice you would use to say 'well, at least the weather is a bit warmer now.'

A Post-MAG 200 fic where everything’s fine :)

What Jon remembers of his last moments in the Panopticon is staring, tear-blurred, at the giant Eye watching him from a bruised sky. He is holding Martin’s hand while he burns inside and out, while he feels the knife sink into his chest. There’s a rumble and then rubble cascades atop them both with grit and ash and iron.

He remembers dying, the words I love you on his lips.

And then, somehow, impossibly, his eyes pop open. 

The first thing he sees is segmented white ceiling tiles. The first thing he hears is the rumble of thunder outside. Must be a rainstorm. He smells petrichor and black tea.

The first thing he feels is a hand in his own. A quick glance shows Martin clutching it like a lifeline. He’s slumped against Jon’s bed, asleep, with his head tucked against his elbow. His hair’s gotten long, curling at his neck.

so i decided to remake this post made back in november now that we've heard all the episodes and know what's changed. (isn't it insane that november was only fifteen episodes ago?? the passage of time... check out the original post if you wanna see my original reasoning, and how character appearances have changed over the last act of the season.)

this count is approximate and based on the wiki, but i can't count so if there are discrepancies it is entirely on me. this list is based on physical appearances -- i.e., do we hear their voice? appearing in a statement or simply being mentioned does not count. i'm also not counting bonus content like the liveshow or trailers here -- this is strictly numbered episodes. (and once again, i cut off the list at 2 appearances, which a lot of people did only appear twice physically.)

jon, martin, and basira all stayed still in their positions, as from the point where i made the initial list (at 185) no character could ever appear enough to surpass those positions

jon, martin, melanie, and elias are the only characters to physically appear in all five seasons

basira, the character who appears the third most out of any character, has the final line of the series

martin, the second most appearing character in this show, isn't even in over half the episodes (86/200)

georgie had the biggest leap in positions in season 5 -- except for annabelle, who never physically appeared before season 5

martin is only absent in one episode of season 5 -- 195. jon is only absent in two -- 186 and 196, only 10 episodes apart, one of which we hear his voice in

some two character appearances that didn't make this list: mikeale salesa. gerard keay. arun the poet. laverne, melanie's therapist. the admiral. jared hopworth. jude perry. jordan kennedy.
