I love the Dune series because not even the weirdest shit in the first three books can ever prepare you for Paul Muad’Dib’s genderfluid kid, the ancient worm god.

Happy Hogswatch!
How I imagined Murderbot:
buff genderless butch
buzzed hair, brown skin, dark eyes
bored, slightly irritated expression
How the studio imagined Murderbot:
buff cishet man
blond hair, white skin, blue eyes
angry, slightly disdainful expression? (this one’s subjective)
No one’s interpretation of Murderbot’s appearance is “wrong,” I just wish we could’ve had some real-world representation for a canonically genderless character.
I’m interested in knowing how others imagined Murderbot when they read the books. Feel free to share!
Hi, it's me, the boyfriend who looked like a girlfriend you had in February of last year. Just thought somebody should tell you you're gay now.

When your coworker is telling you the story of the three brothers who go to Jo’Kala
Leto Atreides II right before stripping a man and having him publicly flogged: “I have no sexual proclivities.”
Thinkin bout electrolysis again... Medically transitioning as an agender person is such a process, and it's not at all linear. My doctors have misconceptions about my "end goals" and assume I want to pass as the "opposite" gender. But being perceived as a man or a woman gives me dysphoria. (Simply from a medical standpoint, you'd think gender-affirming care would seek to alleviate that, rather than reinforce it.) I need to just accept that my transition may last a lifetime, and that it's ok for my appearance to fluctuate and defy expectations. It's not that I can't make up my mind, because what I want is clear. It's that everyone seems to want to make it up for me, and all of their options are extremely limited.
