a body of light, or a night-lamp that imitates the atmosphere that surrounded early man during the nights: the flickering light, the crackling sounds..
The 16 bulbs dim respectively to values coming from openframeworks software, that split a video of a campfire to 16 slices of averaged colors.

Algo Lights combines software with hardware, bringing together the digital with the physical.
Drawing with the mouse on the one-pixel horizontal line is translated into the LED stripe, creating a dynamic spectacle of lights. Algo Lights is made out of six TLC5940 chips and a paper stripe of 96 LEDs. Connected to an aruduino board, the LEDs respond to different drawing tools and particle systems softwares created in openFrameworks.
Algo Lights can contain any given openFrameworks sketch. Hence, other coders can contribute their own work and see how it is been translated into the body of lights.
