Advice for Remy, Day 77. Look after your friends, as they’ll look after you. We’re currently living in a world of panic buying, limited stocks and general supermarket emptiness. Toilet rolls are beyond scarce, meat is running out, essential supplies are dwindling and people are worrying. We’ve stocked up (sensibly, not greedily) on certain things but there’s still some items we can’t get. After scouring the whole of Lincoln for Calpol we’ve turned over a blank at every step. Nothing in the supermarkets, nothing in the chemists - even Boots in town only had six bottles delivered yesterday and they’d all gone shortly after opening. But fortunately for you, one of your little friends came to the rescue. When I got back to my desk this morning there was this little care package waiting, addressed to you, from your little friend Ruby, containing a bottle of Calpol just for you. Now I’m imagining she may have had help from her parents with this, to which we are eternally grateful, though I like to think she made the trip out and found a secret stash of it all by herself. Either way, you’re now covered if you feel a little under the weather over the next few weeks and we don’t have to worry as much any more, thanks to that resourceful little scamp. So make sure you continue to look after your friends as you grow older (starting with Ruby) and you’ll always be looked after in life.
